Does what it says on the tin...
However, I bought this to plug into my acoustic directly and check the battery... which it doesn't do. You have to take the battery out of the guitar to check it which is extremely annoying since my Taylor seems to hate when I attempt to remove the Battery, its a little shy. Even then it only gives you a percentage and not the amount left in hours.
The Battery reading is the most accurate I've seen so far.
It does work on battery powered pedals so you can plug directly into the pedal and it will give you the time left also.
Overall it doesn't work for the purpose I bought it for but its very handy to have nonetheless.

Hurtigt battericheck

An essential tool for anyone with many instruments and batteries
I use this everywhere for all my batteries, instruments, and effects. I even periodically take out all the rechargeable and other batteries around the house to check their charge and either recharge them or get rid of old ones. I honestly have no complaints about this device and I now can't imagine what I would do without it.

Great product
I'm glad to be able to measure the batteries in my guitars and boxes. For some reason it won't work on my Taylor guitar's ES2 electronics.

Perfect unit to keep your nerves in check.
I've got a few pedals, and active guitars, and on tour, we change batteries all the time, but with this unit, I could monitor the batteries daily, to make sure that I only changed batteries when needed. If you're paying for batteries yourself, you really should own one of these. It will save you a lot of money over the years, and perhaps even more importantly, it will save you the embaressment of having to change batteries on stage.

Keith McMillen Batt-o-Meter
A really useful tool for quickly checking the charge state within the 9V battery which powers your internal preamp in your bass or guitar. You just insert the jack plug into the socket on your instrument and press one button for an instant read-out.
It also works on other battery types and can test them outside of the instrument too. ;o)

Not accurate
It will register 9v when measuring a battery externally but then register only 7.8v when the same battery is in the guitar. It does not give me a value at all with my Martin acoustic nor with my Gibson SG. The jack is shorter than traditional jacks. Let me know if I am doing something wrong please!

great but not perfect
very helpful but unfortunately doesnt work on all basses which is normal due to the different wiring of each instrument. nonetheless, you can still take the battery out of measure it with this device. Overall , I like it a lot and it fits easily in my gig bag.
