Very high quality stand.
14.01.2017
This is easily the best mic stand I've ever used, it's rock solid and has a very large footprint, making it strong in every direction.

The bottom shaft and the legs are very thick, meaning it has a low centre of gravity, and is really difficult to accidentally knock over (if it's even possible to do so).

One slight downside is that it is rather heavy, and can be cumbersome to transport - although it does collapse down into itself quite well, making it small enough to carry under one arm without bumping into everything.

For the price I'm very pleased, and expect it to last many years - also, the parts which may fail can be replaced, meaning you can just fix it, rather than throwing it away if it does break.

I bought it with K&M 25905 'micro-stand', which is a perfect partner for vocals and guitar, as this has quite a high ground clearance, whereas the micro is shorter, thus it fits snugly underneath and can get two mics very close together.

This stand is especially well suited to holding a stereo bar, as it is very strong - even at full extension (vertically and horizontally). I've used it for drum overheads and over an upright piano, it holds my Oktava mk012's very securely for hours without even the suggestion of stooping.

All things considered, exceptionally good stand, easily worth the money (buy cheap, buy twice), and good looking to boot.

Thomann, as usual, were brilliant in their service.

Strong and sturdy
Daniel B. 502, 15.11.2017
I own multiple K&M stands and the reason for this is they are quality at a reasonable price. I've owned cheap knock off stands etc and always find the 'buy cheap buy twice' motto to hold true always. the locking devices on these are not cheap and flimsy, nor do they tend to sag or work loose over time like the cheap versions you can buy. This saves time and money in the long run. I have torn these down 100's of times to move them around to venues and around the studio and there as good as new still. This is another work horse of the studio and worth every penny.

Unusuable
Flan, 20.07.2019
The swivel part which connects the stand with the boomarm was literally missing from the box, so this stand is pretty useless to me now. Sending this back from Dubai would be a hassle now too.

At least the build quality is good for the price.

K&M does it again
03.03.2016
Though this looks almost the same as my cheap mic stand, it's miles better in terms of quality feel. It will not fall over, the tightening screws will actually hold the boom in place, and the best thing is that if you should be unlucky and strip a screw, each individual part can be purchased separately. It's somewhat heavy, but that should just be an indicator of quality, not a deterrent. If you have an expensive mic, the last thing you want is for it to take a nose dive into the stage floor.

Solid and great value for money
Ciaran Birch, 20.03.2019
I bought this for use in my home studio and so far it's been working out great. I didn't fancy spending a fortune on a mic stand and this one sat right in the middle of the money I wanted to spend. Very stable, good quality all round.

Boom mike stand.
Christopher6076, 21.03.2019
I have mixed feelings about this stand.
I use it at home, mostly sitting. I also use it on stage. I like the adjustable boom arm very much, it is super easy to set for just the right length and orientation and looks cool. The Tee handle for locking the angle of the boom is very strong, high pressure is easy to apply with the sliding handle. The feet and base are heavy and strong which makes it stable, even with a fairly heavy microphone at full extension.
Now the poor things. The rotating collar that locks the height is not very grippy and you need to really tighten it hard to set the height. The round knob for locking the base to the upright is a little flimsy and I think the thread on the screw could easily strip if you were to over tighten it (but that is true of most stands). It is fairly expensive for a mic stand but I have other, cheaper stands and this is far the best.

Heavy & reliable stand !
Dark Side asbl, 02.09.2019
We have been trying multiple brands ...
and since there are being used quite intensively, we are dropping all cheap ones as these are just breaking after each other...

this is good quality and if you use the model with the heavy stand (some models have a stone like base) these are simply what we can expect from a stand.
Stable & Reliable !

Don't get anything else
Jbite, 19.03.2019
K&M stands are tough and durable and survive far more punishment than alternatives before breaking. Cheaper stands have snapped in my hands before and in some cases have led to damage to valuable gear.

The double telescoping arm of the 210/9 is also absurdly useful and what makes this model an industry standard.

Solid sturdy mic stand, excellent value.
Shay Kinsella, 31.10.2017
I have bought in excess of 30 mic stands during my music career. This is the best one I have purchased. It is strong, sturdy, well balanced yet not too heavy and great value at the price. The telescopic boom arm is perfect for vocals whilst playing drums. Extending or shortening the boom allows me to place the base of the stand out of the way of other stands i.e. cymbal/hi hat stands. I would recommend it for drummers and keyboard players. Overall a great buy.

it does the job every time
jonnybass1968, 11.05.2017
I always tried to save money on mic stands and not get the very cheapest but just enough for something half decent....which is fine, UNTIL you need that stand for the overhead drum mic or the keyboard player where you need to extend it the whole way, thats when the cheap stand will topple over with the slightest contact. Not this stand - weighty bass to it and heavy construction along with 2 piece telescopic boom gets it in the right place every time and it aint moving! If I could afford it I would replace ALL my mic stands with these, well worth the money

K&M 210/9 mic stand
Michael B. 267, 14.05.2013
Quality mic stand. Once I bought my first K&M stand, made me realise what I had been missing. Now I will only use K&M. This weighs more than the cheap stands, and you can feel the good components that have been used. Very impressed.

No instructions provided

It may sound bizarre, but there is one piece I do not know where to put. There are no instructions and they are also impossible to find in the website of the manufacturer. The stand is stable but the arm moves loosely.

The one to get
Pieter H., 10.12.2015
There's a reason these stands are used widely in the professional theatre and music business. They are solid, extremely well made and do a great job. What's more, if any part does break or go wrong K&M also provide spare parts so just because the rubber degrades or you lose the tension screw doesn't mean the end of the stand - order new parts and away you go!

Steve4385, 03.02.2019
The best mic stands we?ve ever had, we?ve had budget and been replacing them every few years with constant failure and sagging booms!
With these, 4 years on and weekly usage we still going strong. Worth every penny, highly recommended!!

Drum Mics
Miking up and recording a drum kit is a fairly complicated procedure, and this can apply equally to choosing the right mics for the job.
