A
Dangerous design flaw
Anonymous 10.02.2017
I have been using these stands with no problems since March 2015. I use them about 3-4 nights a week as a gigging musician. However, last Thursday night I set them up at a venue as per usual when one of them collapsed with a speaker on top of it. It narrowly missed me and also narrowly missed some customers. It could have been quite serious and it was only luck, and luck alone, that stopped it from being serious.

I immediately inspected both stands and found that the small screws that hold the 3 minor bars on the bottom of the stand to the actual legs themselves were all loose and ready to fall out. In my case, one did fall out and the stand collapsed with the speaker on top of it,. On checking the second stand the problem was repeated. Loose screws. This is a serious design flaw and surely, rather than screws, bolts should be used to stop this from happening?

All in all, the stands are strong and sturdy, but this flaw makes them wholly unsuitable to be used in public places where they are clearly a potential hazard. I'm not at all impressed by this and would never recommend them to another user.

Excellent Value

Just bought this, have only used twice so far, and only used as a lighting stand. Breaks down to a very compact tidy unit. Not to heavy but the main thin is it feels really sturdy and not cheap like some wind up stands. All in all seems like a great stand and excellent value for money!!!

Expensive but worth it

I have some pretty heavy speakers (LD Systems ICOA 12A). These stands are a necessity for me. I'm not very strong and I tend to have back-pain if I force myself. These stands provide excellent support. It's super easy to adjust the height of the speakers without any effort. And they go really high without loosing stability. Built like a tank and made to last. If you are looking for a light setup that is easy to transport, this is not for you though. Stability often comes with extra weight.

A perfect stand for a little heavier speakers, very easy to handle and very good stability. Now we don't have to worry anymore that the speakers would flip over if somebody would bump into the stand while dancing.

Fantastic product

Its very strong base and super easy to operate.
I am playing every evening for six months and i was very tired to pick up the speakers.
With this stand its ten times easier, and also with this base its easy to lift the speaker high so you don't disturb the audience who sits Infront and the sound is reaching to the last people in the back
