The Shadow Snare comes from Mapex's renowned Black Panther series and features a seven-layer shell construction made from a combination of birch and walnut, which creates a dark timbre full of character. The Black Panther Shadow Snare from Mapex measures 14" x 6.5" and comes with SONIClear bearing edges (45° batter side and 35° snare side), which, with their rounded outer edge, offer an increased skin contact surface compared to normal edges. All of the metal fixtures, such as the In-Line Locking B-Lugs and the Cylinder Drive lift-off, are mounted on rubber plates, a simple method that prevents direct contact with the shell in favour of an unhindered development of resonance.
