Amazing upgrade from Yamaha BB425
ViktorJ 27.12.2021
Before Sire M7 5 string 2nd gen Swamp Ash I had Yamaha BB425 5 string passive PJ, which was really good as a starting point. What I lack in that BB is the clarity and crispness in highs for slapping. It's not that I use slap in my rock cover band, but for home experimenting and to have fun, I was missing that crispness.

Now with M7 I have tons of tones. Just for the first time connected already experienced a lot of joy. Now should try more with more gear. Will see how it will perform at gig in a month.

Upd 1: amazing amount of tones! 2 pickups, 3 modes each, any mix of them, active eq, passive tone, B string sounds great. I love this bass!

UPD 2: gig was postponed, will add impression during first several months of practice and rehearsals.
Due to sharp fret edges gave 4/5 for quality. Not good for skin, had to file frets edges.
Sound is still 5/5 - very versatile and wide range of tones. Playing with wireless straight to the amp, on the amp I set all at noon except for bass - lowering a bit for the room, but anything else is controlled from the instrument - passive or active.

Upd 3: in a long run with few more gigs passed, I love this bass even more. It's very stable, summer or winter. During the gigs I don't use all the functions, but at the studio I have discovered much more sounds I can get and use out of it. My preferable strings are nickel wound (currently D'Addario NYXL), I didn't found stainless steels any inspiring.

Perfect bass, considering the price. Had to change the strings for Elixir, be aware, it should be an extra long scale ones.
