Quality Strings, but expensive!!!
I have been using Optima 'Gold' Strings now since about 1995 (when they were still called 'Maxima', it was that long ago!) and I haven't used anything else since. I find they sound great, hold their tuning, and I almost never break them.
They also last a very long time, and since I hate changing strings, this is a bonus. Unfortunately they are now getting very expensive to buy, and I have to buy them in bulk from Thomann to get a reasonable price.
I would like to be able to get a custom set ideally so I can get a more balanced set (hopefully they will do that in the future), but since they are now so expensive I don't think I'll be able to buy them in the future, unfortunately.
I may have to change to the 'Chrome' strings they make instead, to make them more cost effective. I'd rather not have to do that, but times are hard and I may have no choice.

Fabulous Strings
Took a gamble and ordered three sets of these, having never used Optima strings before (always D'Addario). They're lovely and bright (but not harsh), quite smooth for round-wound strings with less finger noise than I'd typically expect, plus they're flexible and easy to bend.
Lastly, they look cool, the gold finish seems to be lasting well and they still sound great after a couple of weeks.

The biz
Bought these strings to match the goldware on my guitars with I gig with in Dublin , Ireland . After fitting them on the guitars I was amazed with the tone , clarity and sheer sparkle , so I reckon they are the biz for me ?????

Bright & beautiful
They feel and sound as good as they look (the gold is pure bonus). No "coated" dullness, great to handle and just some of the best, clearest sound I've ever gotten out of my guitars. Highly recommended.
