Class of its own!
This is my 3rd guitar attenuator & I found the Palmer PDI-06 gets me the sound I needed.
The Palmer is well packaged and as described. The unit is very well made with a sturdy metal casing with simple control. The price is very reasonable for the quality I get is expensive. I would suggest the PDI-06 to anybody that needs all the great juice from a tube amp with a room level or even a bed room level.
Thanks to Thomann for the great price & excellent service! Will surely back for more stuff.

Palmer PDI-06-16 Ohm
I use this load box is used to use a 50 Watt amplifier to practice at home.
The tone is changed by the load box, so I use an EQ in the amp loop to compensate.
Overall a good product.

My neighbours are very happy!
I can finally play my 100W JVM without my neighbours hearing everything!
the product is plain and simple - but it does what it says on the box.
no fancy features, but that makes it extremely simple to use.
highly recommended. very well made, and solid.

usefull tool
Palmer PDI offers tp play on lower volume on tube amps but with full saturation and gain - an absolutely crucial function when You use smaller tube amps in a home setting and want to get the most out of your amp.
Important note! Be sure to check the Ohm value of your speaker from your amp to buy the correct PDI, 4, 8 or 16 Ohm.
I am not sure it works as well on low wattage amplifires as on high wattage ones. Palmer usually has good customer service and will answer your questions, being a smaller german company.
Summary: Usefull, easy and sturdy tool.

Palmer 16 ohm Power Pad
I've had a few occasions where I have finished recording some driven sounds through an 18 watt valve amp on it's 5 watt setting and come away and noticed my ears ringing. My amp has a good DI out but I particularly wanted to capture the sounds from an alnico blue speaker. As ever I researched the alternatives and the choice effectively boils down to building an isolation cab or using a power attenuator.
Attenuators seem to vary extensively in price between very cheap and hideously expensive! The Palmer PDI-06-16 Ohms is a lower mid-priced product.
The Palmer turned up within a few days, well packaged and as described. The unit is very well made with a sturdy metal casing with simple and clear controls that feel good quality.
The unit has a two-way switch and works in bypass mode without any noticeable colouring of the amp sound. This allows the full wattage of the amp output through to the speaker cab.
Switching to attenuator mode brings in the functionality of the large and clear rotary knob that affects the degree of volume reduction. This control is marked with numerical levels from 1 to 6 and also in percentage (%) volume at the speaker. These run from 70% at level 1 to 0% at level 6 where it works as a "Load Box". There is no noticeable colouration of the guitar tone whilst the attenuator is in use.
An additional use for the Palmer set to Load Box is to use it with a microphone signal level tap device such as a Red box. This allows you to dispense with a speaker cab completely and run your amp silently.
Criticisms are few. The unit is slightly taller than 1U rack space so creates a size mismatch with other studio gear. It would be great if the unit was switchable to 8 ohm but at present you would need to buy a second Palmer unit rated 8 ohm.
Good buy though and highly recommended.

Exellent
I does what it says. Lowers the volume without altering the sound. A very usefull tool which will make you more versatile as a guitar player. Glad I ended up with this product. I have a feeling I chose just the right product. There are a few cheaper attnuators and a lot of more expensive ones. As Palmer themselves explain, we chose to keep it simple. It is for the live guitar player and if you want something for studio you can add the 09 and still the price i compatible. This one is a keeper

Good quality, no issues at all after 2 years of usage
It may seem controversial, but the fact that it has literally only one feature is very positive. You pay just for this, so you get a very good quality.
