The QSC LA108 represents the next generation of intelligent, active line‑array loudspeakers. A refined fusion of innovative engineering and advanced technology – and yet still very user-friendly – this active 2‑way loudspeaker delivers an exceptional 1,300W output by combining systemic intelligence with premium components. The QSC LA108 unites a specially developed, lightweight 8" low‑frequency driver and a high‑frequency compression driver, enabling it to achieve an undistorted peak sound pressure level of up to 134dB in the high‑frequency range. The overall output is made even more consistent by the active module's power factor correction. And thanks to QSC's LEAF waveguide technology, the LA108 provides a defined and uniformly maintained coverage pattern of 100° horizontally and 15° vertically; when several modules are arrayed, their vertical dispersion combines into a narrower, more directional beam for controlled long‑throw coverage.
Multiple QSC LA108 loudspeakers can be ground‑stacked using the system's dedicated array frame and sub‑stack adapters, or mounted on a loudspeaker stand or pole, as well as flown. Optional short‑, medium‑ and long‑throw rigging configurations are available for event‑specific deployment, also enabling compatibility between the various L Class units. However, this versatility must be considered in the context of the speaker's impressive dimensions: The loudspeaker weighs 13.7kg with measurements of 519×272×374mm. For easy integration into an existing PA setup, the LA108 offers daisy‑chain connections for both analogue and digital audio signals, as well as PowerCon sockets with locking AC connectors. Key setup information is communicated via the intelligent multi-functional display and QSC's SysNav app, which also manages the AWARE sensors for configuring multiple speakers in the same array.
The QSC LA108 is easy to configure and deploy across a wide range of applications. Its use cases extend from simple, portable plug‑and‑play setups to demanding high‑tech AV productions, making it suitable for professional live‑sound reinforcement, fixed installations in clubs, solo entertainers, production companies, and dry‑hire providers. Professional event technicians in particular will appreciate its flexible interoperability with Dante‑based networked audio systems, while end users and venue operators alike benefit from its low energy consumption. An array of L Class loudspeakers is equally effective as part of the main front‑of‑house system or along a delay line: The underlying technology makes the QSC L Class system a fitting solution for multiple deployment requirements.
QSC was founded in California in 1968 and has since established itself as a global leader in the design and manufacture of professional audio system solutions. At QSC, everything – power amplifiers, loudspeakers, digital signal processing (DSP) and digital mixing consoles – is developed under the one roof. This results in products and systems whose features are perfectly matched to one another. QSC's expertise is also evident in its state-of-the-art production technology and quality control. Its products are manufactured both in China and in QSC's own facility, which covers more than 7,500 square meters in Costa Mesa, California.
QSC's LEAF waveguide technology (Length‑Equalised Acoustic Flare) delivers uniform, controlled coverage, ensuring impressive throw. This patented approach produces a wide, highly transparent sound field, and was developed especially for QSC's line-array systems like the LA108. The waveguide functions as an acoustic impedance adaptor – the high impedance of the compression driver's exit is precisely matched to the low acoustic impedance of the external air load. This improves driver efficiency under acoustic load, enabling low crossover frequencies and supporting the high headroom and controlled directivity the system is designed to achieve. Conversely, sub-band radiation is unaffected by this directional behaviour, because at low frequencies wavelengths are so large that even a mid-sized array's woofers effectively radiate as a point source.
RapidDeploy
Anyone who works in live sound knows how hard it can be to source and finance large crews. It's therefore a huge benefit of the L‑Class system that the speakers can be deployed and configured by a single operator. QSC's RapidDeploy technology means that all rigging‑relevant mechanical components are integrated into the loudspeaker enclosures themselves: no loose pins, bolts, or external small parts that could be misplaced or awkward to handle. Each loudspeaker incorporates front and rear hooks along with a locking lever with clearly labelled angles, enabling just one person to install an entire array quickly and safely. Beyond ease of handling, this construction also eliminates exposed external rigging hardware, giving each array a clean, unobtrusive appearance.
