The best sounding drumhead at an unreasonable price
Yes, these do sound the best under a microphone, there's no denying that. But Remo's dramatic price increases over the recent years made me, and many other drummers, look for alternatives. There's still something magic about Remo sound, but not magic enough to pay this much, and some cheaper alternatives are getting very, very close, sonically. Also, Remo drumheads can on occasion pull out too much from the flesh hoop on tensioning and a new head is ruined - they haven't changed their design since I don't know how long ago, while other companies innovated and their heads are now more stable. Finally, Remo should offer more value packs. This product is 3 tom heads, while many drummers have 4 or 5. I would like to see at least a 10-12-14--16 pack.

Remo PP-1382-BA Ambassador clear.
The Remo PP-1382-BA Ambassador gave my kit a warm full sound with just enough sustain, my kit sounds great after putting these on and I would highly recommend them to anyone who's thinking of re-skinning the bottom of your tom's. Plus they are a good price too.

I used the Remo Emperor on the batter head and these on the bottom head and WOW. The sound is so balanced once you have used something to get rid of the overtones.
