Button popped out

This is quite a unique adapter, allowing devices attached to the end of a straight stand to be angled. Some might think that using a boom stand renders this redundant but this remains useful for things like adjusting the angle of a stereo bar - a boom arm joint may not be able to hold a loaded stereo bar reliably. I also find this useful for angling a handheld recorder on the end of a short boom pole or selfie stick (with 1/4" fitment adapter).
To fix the orientation of whatever is screwed into the end of the adapter, you have to use the two thumb wheels. This works, but is slightly awkward and I wish there was a better solution.
It is mostly well-made and high quality, most of it is metal. I encountered a problem when the button in the hinge screw popped out - extra caution is probably advised when push-turning the adjustment lever. Thomann were extremely helpful in dealing with this.

H
ok adapter
HowieCapowie 23.04.2019
bought this one because i had two others from a different manufactorer that did not perform very good. This is a better one, cost more too, but still feels it is a little quirky to get the right angles set and have them stay there with heavy mics. (not that heavy). I use it with the Røde stereobar, and the access to the set screw can be is a bit quirky as mentioned. It might be that it works better if you have someone to help hold the mics in position while setting the correct angle with it.

Useful, but overpriced
Adrian866 09.06.2017
I'm using this to mount a Rode SB20 stereo bar to mic stands. Effectively, this means that the stereo bar can be positioned anywhere between zero and 90 degrees in relation to the end of the mic stand - very useful when micing up different sound sources.

It seems pretty well made out of decent quality plastic, and should stand up to regular use without issues. However, I think it is way overpriced for what it is, and have knocked a star off my rating accordingly.

The Rode Pivot Adapter is great and unique tool.
I have the Rode Stereo Bar SB20 (also a great tool as well!)
and I needed an adapter that can make it more versatile with the angles. The Rode Stereo Bar SB20 is just attach to the boom stand and when it necessary to make not common angel or that the boom is not long or short enough (for example recording acoustic guitar and you need that the Stereo Bar will be in in front of the guitar for XY /AB /ORTF recording) so the Rode Pivot Adapter is a good helper here.
Sure that it fits to and mic adapter!

Great wee adaptor!

It lets you spin your mic around. It does it well and is very strong and secure. I bought it for my stereo bar and it works great. Worth the money.

A must for certain microphones and other options.

These adapters are very useful, well made, and almost a requirement for certain things like stereo bars on boom style stands, since without them the microphones would be at the wrong angle. It is probably not a bad idea to have at least one or two of these laying around to aid in certain tasks in the studio depending on your needs.
