Good Product But has Drawbacks
Having been a rode procaster user for several years i couldnt wait for this item and as soon as it arrived , i was very impressed, however after several months of use, the desk started doing weird things after a software update. the desk would lose all its setting after a power cut and then just started crashing for no reason, only when the mic was live which is still happening and now wont update the firmware at all.
A shame as i will have to buy another desk to replace this one as i dont have a spare, but seriously tempted not to buy rode as a result

The Audio editing station.
This thing is fantastic; it can replace (almost) a whole studio setup. Only be aware that it wants a firmware update out of the box, which took me more than 6 hours to download and update the device, did it via USB via my Mac. (Defo not my internet connections fault, but some issue within the devices software/hardware). I had to reboot it and did it then via wifi, after which it started working but prompted another update which I could thankfully do via wifi in the background.
Works fantastic now, and I just started setting it up properly as I'm waiting on a few more things.

Major improvement over original - still place to grow through FW updates
I am using RCPII mainly for live streaming and teleconferencing and it works just fine. Also use it as generic audio interface and for playing guitar.
With latest production firmware there are still thing missing, for example one cannot create custom routing for main monitors. That means that you cannot create mix minus for microphone (Cannot use it with others speaking in monitors, must use headphones) and guitar input - cannot listen only to wet return signal from DAW on computer, dry signal from guitar will always sound as well.
Fortunatelly this is resolved in current beta FW (Which brings ather bugs/issues, but hopefully those will be fixed).
Overall great interface with lots on functionality and it seems that RODE is listening to what users are asking and implementing new functionality in FW updates.

Great!
Very versatile, easy to use, good value for money. Only thing I miss is ability to switch Bluetooth off on system level.

Unfassbar Praktisch
Tolles Studio-Audio-Interface. Wir verwenden es dezidiert zum Podcasting. Vor allem Bluetooth Call-Recording oder Bluetooth Audio-Output ist unfassbar praktisch. Aufnahmequalität ist auch top. Selbst bei hohem Gain kein rauschen.

One of the best pieces of equipment i've ever bought
Honestly i can't sing enough praises about the Rodecaster Pro 2. When i first bought this unit i had just podcasting in mind but it turned out to be such a versatile piece of equipment that it's now the centre piece of my home studio. It's an audio interface, a mixer, a podcaster, a sampler, an effects unit and a really versatile all round musical tool.
I can't mention all it does, you'll have to check it out yourself but i think there's a place for this unit in most home studios.
Highly recommended.
