Good for EUBs
Using these on a Harley Benton DB01 electric upright bass (which is similar to a Stagg EDB).
Compared to metal core strings, these sound much more mellow, which is exactly what I think works best onsolid body EUBs as they are usually much more resonant. This results in a less metallic zingy and more acoustic sounding tone. E string tension and tone is fine and definition as adequate, but the other strings are noticeably high tensioned, so what I would suggest is use the E, skip A, use D&G strings in A&D positions, and buy a 0.080" gauge trimmer line with kevlar core (which is the same thing, should be cheap) for the G string.
I found this to be the most balanced and pizzicato/slap playable weed wacker setup with enough definition.
