Ce l’ho solo da due giorni, ma ho già capito che si tratta di una macchina straordinaria.
Da oltre un anno desideravo ricreare questa channel strip con i moduli 500, ma l’investimento era sempre piuttosto impegnativo. Sentivo che SSL avrebbe prima o poi rilasciato la sua strip completa, ed è per questo che ho preferito aspettare.
Le funzioni sono numerose e l’unità è davvero completa.
Il de-esser è molto piacevole e il gate sorprende: già solo attivandolo su cassa e rullante si ottiene un suono importante. L’equalizzatore è eccellente: le alte hanno il carattere tipico del suono SSL, mentre i bassi sono rotondi e musicali. Come sulla console originale, è possibile selezionare tra la modalità “Brown” o “Black”, dettaglio che rende questa macchina ancora più versatile.
Mi sta piacendo moltissimo e conto di acquistarne presto un secondo esemplare, perché è un hardware che dà il meglio di sé in coppia.

Immédiat, précis et efficace. Toutes les fonctionnalités sont bien pensées. Je n'utilise plus leur équivalent plugins depuis.

Überlegen im Sound
Ich habe den Channelstrip hauptsächlich wegen einem einzigen Kunden ins Studio geholt. Wir waren zusammen schon lange auf SSL Pugins eingeschossen. Für die zukünftigen Projekten wollten wir uns auf einen bzw. seinen Signature-Sound festlegen. Die Hardware ist deutlich verzeihender als die Plugins (UAD Unison). Der Klang ist für mich "weicher" auf eine sehr angenehm Weise. Wir haben sofort unsere Einstellungen gefunden und loslegen können. Besonders gut ist die Möglichkeit den Signalpfad zu kontrollieren. Per Knopfdruck lassen sich einige Module in ihrer Reihenfolge ändern. Das Highlight jedoch ist der absolut musikalische De-Esser. Der funktioniert irgendwie viel zu gut. Mega! Das sich der Channelstrip völlig unkompliziert in Logic Pro als externes Gerät einbinden lässt... traumhaft. So lassen sich auch bestehende Aufnahmen nachträglich mit dem SSL 4000 Revival Sound prägen. Ganz ehrlich - deutliche Kaufempfehlung.
Und jetzt der Teil, der eher langweilig aber wichtig ist: die Verarbeitung ist grundsolide. Ich denke, dass die Hardware für viele Jahre Freude bereiten wird.

High End
Bunch of basic tools in 1U format. For some reason, after tweaking all sections right you'are getting proffessional and polished sound. I would say it's a one of the best bang for a buck channel strip there is. SSL sound all the way, everything is clear, almost noiseless, very upfront but in a good way. SSL made it very modern looking as well. I have a lot of SSL modern gear but I think they've hit a sweet spot in terms of combing their old sound with a new look and feel. Great routing options, almost digital in terms of what you can do.

Lo tengo hace un par de semanas y de momento muy contento, necesitaría darle más uso para sacar realmente una conclusión. No se puede comparar con el sonido de los plug ins, esto suena “real”, tanto el compresor como la eq.
Las capacidades de enrutamiento de la señal lo hacen todavía más útil.
