Does what it says on the label!
As you would expect with anything Takamine, this product is quality in every way. First off, the preamp has a solid, well-built quality feel with all of the components well made. The sliders are smooth to operate and give the impression that they would remain solid and functional after loads of gigs.
Fitting the preamp is very easy, with only two holding clips to release. The wiring contacts are super easy to fit and the whole process should only take a couple of minutes.
In operation, the preamp does exactly what it is supposed to do! The EQ section is sheer class and has a neat subtle effect on the guitar's sound. The tuner is acceptable and accurate enough for live performance. However, if you want more accuracy when setting-up the guitar you might want to use a dedicated tuner.
The one downside to this preamp is the battery compartment. It is unnecessarily difficult to take the compartment out to change the battery, not impossible but not easy!

The best of the Takamine preamps IMO
This is the best preamp in the Tak range. It has great features on it. One thing that is great is that the cuts and boosts are in the + or - 5db range which is much better that the crazy 12db that is on some units. The built in tuner is accurate and fast. The mute button is very handy for stage tuning in the middle of gigs.

A bit disappointing
I bought this as a replacement for the accuracoustic preamp in my Takamine Santa Fe hoping this would be a good replacement for my failed unit. Unfortunately a direct replacement was no longer manufactured so I chose this as an alternative.
This is unfortunately no match for the original, and the eq has a much narrower range, having only 3 bands, and is heavily biased to the treble side of the spectrum.
I've no doubt that this is an adequate eq unit, but falls far below the standard I had come to expect from the original so I am therefore disappointed in the sound quality.

Takamine CT4BII review
Easy to install and use. The graphic allows a range of sound colours whilst not being too complex or detracting from the guitars natural tones. The tuner is convenient and user friendly.

You Can't Go Wrong With Tak.
Needed to replace my preamp in my baby of almost 20 years, and now we are back in business. all is perfect.

Good product but received used one for the price of a new...
Received a used one with the seal opened and cut out. I suspect that Thomann sent me a B-Stock (98€) for the paid price of a new at 119€. Claim made but I'm waiting for the rest...

Thank you Takamine
Kudos to Takamine for making new preamps, that are a direct plug-in replacement for even very old discontinued models. Well done.
