Good reel solution.
The UTD data cable are not rigid.
I miss a trap (or similar) to block the final end neutrik terminal of the reel to the handle of the reel.
The conector integrated on the Reel looks like is not robust or strong enough to engage with cables without cat5 neutrik terminal or similar end for ethernet cables, i experienced disconnections a few times without it....with the ethernet cat 5 (neutrik) terminal at the end , there is no problems anymore, making perfect fit, making it robust.
I will buy a couple of rubber cab cable(1,77¤)to protect the ethernet conector.
After use it with neutrik terminal, firs time I take off some metalic piece part inside of the rj45 reel conector plug , which came out with the conector neutrik terminal at unplugit... the plug on the reel it is still working and doit " click " when you insert the conector...but this metalic piece is from one side inside of the reel plug. that is something to review and do better at fabric.

Nice and easy to use
It is very handy and cheap, although we had some problems with it when stepping on it. Didn't have the problem with a rougher cable

Very usefull
I bought this cheep cable to check my new Soundcraft digital stage box. After a more then a year of intensive use on gigs it still works without any problem. I rate it with four stars only because it became inflexible when is cold.

You can't beat the price
I use is at least once a week. The ethercon jack feels sturdy, the cable is maleable and doesn't coil. The whole drum is lightweight.
The only thing to be aware of is that the drum-side ethercon plug is inferior in quality compared the other one. You would do yourself a favor if you would leave a small ethercon patch cable permanently plugged in, then connect from there.

Great option for the price
The cable gets dragged around on different gigs both indoors and outdoors. Initially I was bit skeptical about whether it would last, but it has held up very well. It seems a bit prone to coiling on itself, but a lille care when winding it up solves that problem.

Not to sure about this cable
The drum is fine at this price, but the cable should be better. I've only rolled it out into service on four conferences so far and the cable sheath has several splits already, and not due to kinking or poor handling on my part. This may be down to a manufacturing fault with this batch, but I feel this cable really isn't up to the rigours of mobile use.

Always find a use
Hi purchased several of these cat5 cable reels. With so many devices now utilizing cat5/ ethercon/ rj45 connectors it was essential to have a few reels.
I have used these reels for a wide range of jobs from linking sound mixers to stage boxes (Roland digital snake units, Allen and Heath GLD80), vga to cat5 units, smoke machines, and artnet.
The price thomann are selling this for it is worth having an extra one as you never know when you will need one.
