Secure and Decent Reach!
wide eyes 16.10.2021
These are so affordable that I bought some on a whim, not expecting much, but they have totally replaced my low-profile stands and cleared up some much needed space in my home studio. In the past, I've generally preferred gooseneck style rim clamps, for the added positioning versatility, but these clamps provide the perfect amount of reach for either a SM57 sized mic, or a shorter, Audix D2 style mic, and with much higher stability than a gooseneck (those things can sag and shift over time). Don't be fooled by the price, this is a worthwhile and excellent product!

Great budget alternative
luffarvante 08.01.2025
I bought 2 of these and two Audio-Technica AT 8665 to A/B test them side but side and after using them for a few years in my small studio I can't say there is much difference - the AT 8665's feel slightly more premium and safe showing slightly less signs of wear - they would probably hold up longer under heavier and more frequent use (like touring/live settings). Still, these are near-identical and well worth the price.

I mainly use these for toms, so I can't say much about using them on a snare, but as far as I recall they worked fine for that as well last i tried. Just like the AT 8665, this clamp allows for easy mounting - you can get the mic (mostly used with Audix D2 out similarity shaped mics) where you need it, so it's out of the way of the drummer while still giving great results. I find it a lot more flexible and easy to work with than similar products from other manufacturers - the angle and possible positions are a lot more useful (att least to me) compared to e.g. Shure's A50D.

Best clamp for a lot of drum mic.
wferdinand 03.12.2018
Clamp for Sennheiser e604/e904 is really nice, this clamp gives same style but different angle which made this suitable to using with Audix D2/D4 mics on toms, also well used with Beyerdynamic TG-D35d when with original clamp not have any places to clamp it. I also use this with Sennheiser e906/609, can be setup great angle on snare top (with using screw from other side), and snare top for parallel with head, and also often using with Shure Beta57A on snare top. I think this is a No.1 choice, almost the same product like Audio-Technica AT8665 clamp, but for cheaper money.

M
Clever design, fast operations
MaxD&B 02.02.2021
I bought four of these to use with existing mic set, they seem durable (but only time will tell us.)

Material: it's made of plastic.
One size fits all: the design is clever and it fits different hoop sizes.
Operations: snap on, snap off...as simple as that. No need to fasten or tighten screws.

It fits an old kit with die cast hoop on snare drum and steel hoops on toms. They hold mic stable.

Leave your microphone stands at home !

Very handy - quick to use, light to carry, easy to position.
No hassle putting microphones on both snare heads for example.

If you are using a long or bulky microphone it might extend a little over the head on a smaller drum. I've used a more flexible microphone clip that allows the microphone to sit a little further back.

Very useful bit of kit.

CJ
So much better than the SRM 1
Connor Josef 29.11.2020
I have a drum mic set from Thomann that came with the SRM 1s, and simply put, those are awful. They don't fit onto anything nicely, and when they are on secure, they press down onto the drum head and muffle the sound of the drum.

The SRM 2 however, is fantastic. It snaps on nicely over the lip of the drum, stays nice and secure, and does not touch the drum head itself and alter the sound. They can hold a good weight too, I have one with a Shure PG52 mic on my floor tom and it isn't moving at all.

Great mic clamp at a great price, maybe the best price?

Great mic clamp at a great price, maybe the best price?

I bought the Audio - Technica AT 8665, but also got this one out of curiosity.
Its is identical to the Audio-Technica AT 8665, but is made of harder plastic. It also clamps perfectly on triple flanged hoop, so that is not a problem. If you need to save some bucks, then i would definitely go with this one

Fits perfectly on my DW collector's snare. Cable hook is a very nice addition, helps with tidy cable management.

Very useful
Illusionaire 07.04.2021
Very good quality and great price. I bought 5 items. I use them on toms and they are very secure and tight on the drums. They can take enough weight for a standard dynamic microphone and they are flexible and absorb the drum hits smoothly. No complaints. I suggest them to anyone who needs this type of clamp.
