Neat

Neat little device, folds up small, holds a 50w 1x12 valve combo with no problems. Some debate about angling up combos - if you elevate them ( put them on top of a flight case or chair or beer crate) then they are nearer to head height and you will find yourself turning down. If you tilt them then you get a similar effect but the naysayers say that single speaker combos are so directional that the sound carries on to the ceiling ( especially if you are on an elevated stage) more than it does to the audience. If you are moving from having your combo on the floor to this or any kind of stand ( even a beer crate) you will notice the decoupling effect which usually means you lose a lot of low end. This is, however, a more consistent tone from venue to venue.

I now have a Laney combo with its own tilt mechanism so not using this now but the Ultimate stand is perfectly tough. It isn't wobbly at all but with a hefty push it would be easier to knock over than if your combo was on the floor. On the other hand perched on top of a beer crate isn't the safest either.

Compact, stable, well built

This is a lovely piece of kit. It folds up nicely into a gear-bag, and support the amp well. If you are playing with other people and find yourself either nit able to hear yourself clearly, or being asked to turn down by bandmates, get one of these and face the amp towards yourself. This points it at you and means you can hear yourself clearly without blasting the rest of the band!

Broken- kaputt!
Disappointed! 04.10.2019
I had an 18 kilo tube amp on the stand- it is rated for 34 kilos. The back leg broke after using it for one year. Maybe I used it 10 -15 times. What a shame- it was too good to be true!

Good for smaller amps
Anonymous 13.05.2016
I've had this stand for about 3 years and I always keep my amp on it. It is solid enough for smaller amps, at about 20kg.

I used it with two amps, a 2x10" and 1x12".

The mechanism for opening and closing is pretty cool and easy to use.

However, the 2 support legs (or bars) which extend (on which the amp will sit on) were not at the perfect angle, so the amp is not using its whole base to sit correctly on these bars. To fix this, you can try to "manually adjust" them by bending a bit, or to add some foam or such at the top, which will reduce the tilt angle slightly.

I would say it's a good overall product and it definitely helps to point the amp towards your ears.

If it were lost or stolen however, I'm not so sure I would buy this model again, maybe only because of the price and ease of transportation.

H
Does its job
Htbaa 11.08.2017
Out of the box there was already rust inside the plastic wrapper. One of the ledges(?) couldn't be fully deployed. The locking mechanism wouldn't lock either. Adjusting the length of one of the legs to adjust angle was hard to do as well: the little knob is really hard to press, had to use a screwdriver for that.

After some wiggling I could fully deploy one of the ledges (the two holding the amp). Eventually I was able to lock the locking mechanism as well which now goes smoothly. As do both ledges. Adjusting the angle is still a pain but it's set up to my taste and won't be changed again. That leg, fully extended, doesn't look too strong though. But I think it'll be fine.

Overall the quality of the product looks really poor, not really worth ¤ 30,-. The protective rubber feet pop off with great ease as well. Initial installation/deployment simply was a pain.

But, after going through all that the amp stand does what it's supposed to do. I like how the amp doesn't touch the ground anymore. Mount for a microphone is available as well which could come in useful.

I'm satisfied, but expected better quality.

A
Compact and practical amp stand
AronLP 13.10.2020
A very handy and portable amp stand, perfect in size for my Marshall Code 50.
Well-built and quite stable, not too heavy to carry, folds up well to fit into my gear bag, too.
I use an amp mic with an Ulti-Boom Pro TB, which can be easily mounted on the head of the tripod.

Home use or lightweight amps.
Gain_Badger 08.06.2015
Great design but with a few caveats. Firstly, the rivets. I can see the -plastic- leg holder flexing and pulling on the rivets with a 50lb ( 24KG ) amp. The whole shebang isstable, but does not give any confidence it could take any knocks when laden close to its limit. The rivets have no washers to spread the load.
The plastic 'lock ring' does not feel particularly long lasting. Locking the legs in the 'up' position fells like I'm straining the mechanism. No problems locking in the down position though it still feels fragile.
The boss holding the legs to the upright and the way it has been riveted don't inspire confidence for live use, however....
Moving down in size to a 10" speaker'ed combo and all is forgiven for home use or practice. Quick to set up, stable, has a boom mount atop and doesn't eat floor space. Perfect for that environment, which is what I bought it for really.
The ability to alter the angle of the combo should not be overlooked either. There is evidence of real thought in this design. It is quick to set up, does the job with lighter amps and folds down to fit in a kit bag. For that, it shines. My doubts remain over its longevity in a live band situation though.
