Not as good as influencers say (pre-2025 version)
I bought a 6 string bass looking at the reviews for the Rockbass line (this was old stock before the new version in 2025 in a good price point), but I was immediately dissapointed when I take the instrument out of the box.
But first the good things:
- It has the same bridge and nut that the German warwicks has, and also the tuners look the same and are branded with the W, which makes the bass to looks nce.
The bads:
- QA and finish was not good (if the instrument was not an offer, I would also reduce the final qualification): fret sprout (this does not come with the invisible fret technology), buzzing, bowed neck, tuners where sloppy, strings look old and the C string was thin sounding. I took at look and the pickups looks like they are not the same as in Warwick basses. The sound was ok, but nothing especial and the preamp is very bad and harsh, and the pots were scratchy, nothing compared to a normal MEC.
So, I returned it. I usually can do the setup on my own and fix fret sprout and things like that, but even for an offer price, it was pretty high for having such QA problems. Hoping the new line comes a little more carefully crafted.

What an awesome instrument!
All the tones and build you get from the German made Warwicks but at half the price! You know what you're looking at already so just go ahead and order one! (if they're available!)

Work in progress
Unpacked my beautiful looking RB Corvette. All the hardware looks fine with W stamp on the bridge and machine heads and MEC on the pickups. I can’t comment fully on the sound as I’m waiting to take delivery of my 500w Hartke 4x8 combo amp and I’ve only got my Roland Cube busking amp. However all the potential for a massive clean sound is evident and I’ll update my comment when I’ve traumatised the neighbours. Now for the negative bit🙄. As soon as I picked it up it was evident that it hadn’t been set up properly as the action is sky high and I’ve booked it in with a professional guitar technician which will cost between £60 - £150 depending on how much work it needs. To be honest at the price point of £660 and the cost of a setup I can’t grumble so long as it plays nice when it’s done. Another minor niggle is that on really close inspection you can see faint tool marks on the edge of the body where it hasn’t been given a glass smooth finish like the other 98%. Overall compared with a German built model for £3000.00 I think it’s going to be gorgeous once set up. For now though it gets 4 stars. I’d give it 3.5 stars but I’m confident that after the setup I will give it 4.9 stars
