Terrific
I Had been playing a larger piece and was struggling with range so I bought this based upon advice from a friend and colleague. I play mostly commercial music - chart, standards and jazz. It helped a great deal with range; a lot less effort required to play higher. The only negative was my tone thinned out and at times I was playing sharp. I can't fault the piece though as it is so highly crafted and it taught me the invaluable lesson of putting less air into the horn to produce sound and higher notes. For anyone looking to play a more compact mouthpiece, I'd recommend this one; its close in size to a Bach 3C. Superb grip, feel and quality.

Smooth, Warm, and Easy on the Lips
I bought the Yamaha Bobby Shew Jazz mouthpiece to replace the stock mouthpiece that came with my horn, and it made an immediate difference in how my trumpet sounds and feels. Very Comfortable Rim: The rim feels smooth and slightly rounded. It doesn't dig into my lips or leave a painful ring after a 30-minute practice session. The cup isn't super shallow or super deep. My lips don't bottom out, which makes playing much more relaxed. My sound instantly got warmer and fuller. It smoothed out that sharp, thin buzz I used to get on smaller mouthpieces. Notes in the middle staff slot easily and sound great. i got Instant improvement in tone warmth.

Very comfortable
I bought this for my son who had been trialing a Bach 7C.
The Bobby Shew Jazz is more comfortable and straight away his playing improved.

It has a great sound but , for me at least, it is not very flexible because i have big lips.
