G
Swiss Army knife of mics
GregRH 14.12.2018
I love this model of mic from AKG, it's so versatile. It's tough, easy to use, captures a great sound and you can use it for almost anything and it'll do a good to excellent job. I have a pair of AKG C1000S mics now, and I'd happily take another pair - I can't have enough of them around, and they're absolutely brilliant in a live environment too. For the price, I think they're pretty much unbeatable.

A
A good microphone for overheads, acoustic guitar!
Anonymous 12.08.2015
Very good packaging microphone! Very pleased that the package includes
a good handbag, visor and nozzle orientation. When I turned on the microphone I was surprised that for the money this microphone sounds just wonderful. Recording acoustic guitar surprised detailed sound. Recording sounds overheads at a high level.
The microphone has a rugged metal housing and a special mount for a secure fit on the rack. Use C1000 S gilded capsules and XLR-connectors make microphone resistant to moisture.

Great value for your money

The AKG C1000s MKIV are very versatile microphones. As overhead mics they to a very good job. Clear, warm and natural sound that highlights your cymbals is a must, and these mics do the job.
The switchable low cut feature helps you keep your sound clean in live situations where this can be a challenge.
They oparate on phantom power, and they may also be used with internal power/battery. This makes them very versatile as they also can be used in all kinds of recording, for example with a Zoom recorder or similar.
Best buy for really good sound in this prize range!

Captures natural sound well!
Young-Bin 19.02.2018
I use these for recording acoustic guitar, cajon, and amps (E-Guitar and Bass). It captures the natural sound pretty well. It's also durable with cool features like changing polaroid patterns and battery power.
Also very affordable for what it is capable of.

AKG C1000S Mk4
Robert814 03.01.2014
Another "Industry Standard" updated! The idea of using 2 AA cells instead of a 9V battery will probably increase battery life for those who need battery power. I thought I had got an older previous version at first because I twice failed to see the switches for pad and 80Hz cut. They are TINY! (Ultra miniature slide switches) mounted either side of the battery holder. I always want the 80Hz cut switched in by default. These things were once referred to as "Rumble Filters" in the days of vinyl record decks. They help to cut floor noise, and possibly bass drum through a wooden stage, but not a lot more.
