Faithful, comfy, sturdy
I needed headphones for both mixing on the fly and for tracking. For that, they needed to not color the sound in a significant way, light, and closed. These succeed in all of those tasks.
Frequency-wise, to my ear there isn't any particular set of frequencies that stand out. No hissy highs or boomy (or absent) lows. Mid-range is controlled and tightly fit with the rest.
Easy to manage, quick to store away, and with different cables, it's easy to set them up in a way that fits the job at hand.
Field recording - good to carry around, easy to pack away, long cable if you need the distance.
Mixing - despite their being a closed design, they also feel like they breathe well, and their frequency response is smooth through and through.
Tracking - again, long cable to move around, and very light.
Overall, these are headphones that will fit more than one job description in a more than competent manner, and I would definitely recommend them.

The best headphones you'll find at this price point... with a very big BUT.
I've been reading a lot about these headphones during the years with a lot of concerns. Long ago, I had the chance to try these out with a very pleasing first impression, the audio quality was pretty good.
However, a lot of people complained about the durability of the product and other factors. Let me share my thoughts about them real quick.
- Let's begin with the downsides:
The materials are nothing to brag about. It's an average plastic quality (not cheap but thin for a lighter weight) with a lot of synthetic leather around that will peel off over time, and the silicon headband probably will get a bit greasy just like old phone cases.
My biggest concern isn't the headband's aesthetics. Even if the leather peels off or the silicon degrades visually (both of these issues can be cleaned), the plastic at the ends of the headband feels fragile. It's meant to bend so the headband adapts to the shape of your head, but the bend pressure seems a bit too disproportionate for the thin plastic.
I have an average head width, and putting these on with a lot of care makes the headband bend enough to be concerned. Some people managed to snap the plastic on one side and I'm not surprised that's the case.
Maybe those people weren't being careful with the product, but I'm not confident enough to ensure that was the case before it snapped. I'll be extra careful to ensure that doesn't happen, hopefully just being careful is enough. If the headband of my headphones manages to break, I'll edit this review. For future reference, I've ordered these the 11/7/2026.
Noise isolation is average, don't expect much.
With all that said, let's go with the pros:
- The confort of the headphones is very real. These disappear on your head, very long sessions won't be a problem.
- The sound quality is simply the best one you'll find in this price range or even much higher. AKG K371 is tuned to harman with very pleasing accuracy, the spatial sound is wide enough to be happy and the sound separation is surprisingly good for closed-back headphones. For monitoring, mixing, music production and playback, these are one of the only sets I enjoy using.
You'll need to find the perfect angle to have a good seal, otherwise the bass will be weak and the headphones will seem too bright. Pushing the front of the headphones as much as possible so the earpads are touching the front side of your ears usually does the job. I'm happily using these headphones with glasses
- The earpads are pretty good. These will wear over time like any other earpad, but these can be easily ordered through AKG's customer support.
- The cables are not as microphonic as some peple mention, specially the short one. The coiled and the long cables will be microphonic if you move around a lot, so if you stay still you'll be fine (clothes rubbing the cable won't make noise, just cable tension, which is good), but the short one is not a concern at all.
In summary. If the headband doesn't snap, then this set of headphones is pretty much all you'll ever need.
Even though I'll keep you guys updated in case that ever happens, I'd wish this set was a bit more expensive with a thicker headband.

Powerful bass and easy EQing
Nearly 2 years of use review:
What I liked:
- Powerful bass, the 50 mm drivers pack a punch without blowing out the mids and being muddy
- Overall sound, these headphones have a nice natural sound with loads of detail which isn't lost to bass.
- Very responsive to EQ, these headphones can be easily tuned to whatever sound you like, analytical sounding to head vibrating bass.
- Cables, very nice selection of cables which are removable.
- Build quality, these headphones are very sturdy and they fold which is good for transport.
What I didn't like:
- Somewhat narrow soundstage, these headphones are closed back so the sound might appear to be quite closed in.
- Comfort, At first use the comfort wasn't great, the ear cups were shallow, the pads prevent use with glasses since losing the seal decimates the sound and the headphones aren't the most stable on the head. It can also get warm after a while.
Conclusion: Absolutely worth it. They are a great pair of headphones.

Great closed back
Very pleased with the quality of these .
Swapping between these and Sundaras is a good palate cleanser, Sundaras give a more clinical, wide and spacious sound while these give a more intimate and more "alive" sound with a bit more bass slam.
The only negative is the comfort, i have slightly big ears (7x4cm) and these are a bit too narrow in width, after some 40min mark i have to adjust them, if you have slightly smaller ear then these will fit snug.
Highly recommend these headphones for both studio work and just enjoying the music, these punch way above their price point, they are one of the best closed backs available.
Swapping between these and Sundaras is a good palate cleanser, Sundaras give a more clinical, wide and spacious sound while these give a more intimate and more "alive" sound with a bit more bass slam.

My favourite pair of sealed headphones so far
The K-371s have a nice sound signature that's pretty easy to adjust to when making music or playing/recording - sometimes I personally wish it was more "laid back" and less punchy, but it's not a big issue and it still isn't overly bright so that you'd get ear fatigue too easily. I find that rough mixes made on these translate OK across my other speakers and headphones once you get used to the sound.
They're also way more comfortable for me than most other sealed cans I've tried - this is of course really personal. The headphone cable is mini XLR style with a sturdy connector, and you get two or three different cables in the package, which is a big plus considering the cable is usually the first thing to go. It's easy to take the cable off for transport and replace when needed.
All in all, I'm not going to wax poetic about these, but they tick all the boxes - feel OK in use, sound very decent, seem to hold up fine and feel trustworthy. Because of that, they've been the only pair of sealed headphones I've owned and used for a while now.
