Good kit for beginner BUT...
Mesh pads feel nice and quiet.
The pedals are playable for beginners but it is hard for me to do the heel-toe technique with these pair of pedals since there is no recoil and so you need to put a lot more force to hit the second successive kick.
The pad is rather small and you accidentally hit the rim from time to time which is a LOT louder than hitting the mesh or the rubber pad and be careful! this kit does not include the rubber rim which is also not explicitly mention (You probably have to compare the pictures of Alesis Nitro and Alesis Turbo to see the missing rubber rim)
The included sound is not so bad but the hihat sounds significantly quieter than another part and you have to way of fixing this quiet hihat problem.
You can plug in the audio input and play along with the song BUT I could hear the cracking noise from the drum sound from time to time (like if you play the snare at the same time as the kick). This is too annoying for me so I rarely use the built-in sound system but rather play with the DAW on my PC.
For the price, it is quite nice but I would recommend going for the Alesis Nitro Mesh kit instead. You get better pads with rubber rims and the actual kick tower which should feel better than this pedal.

Not an expert, but there are some cons
I'm starting with drums, it's my first one and I'm using it for one week now.
Pros:
- Cheap comparing to other electronic drums
- Easy to install and to start with, 1 hour and I was ready to play
Cons:
- I think that the pedals are not sensitive enough, I mean sometimes I have to press the pedals hard to get the sound. But as I said, I'm new, maybe I'm not used to use my feet and the problem will disappear with practice
- The kits : There are 10, and I think that there are 3, maybe 4 useful kits, there rest have bad sounds at my opinion
