I wanted to try this drum head because many heavy hitting drummers used it in the 90's (Dave Grohl). This head is a monster, it never broke, I only changed it after almost a year 'cause I wanted to experiment with different tuning/sound! It complimented really well my Tama Starclassic Bubinga 14''x8'' snare, sounded muffled enough but not dead with few overtones. I tried many different tunings but this head worked better in high to medium tunings. Highly recommended to heavy hitters and budget drummers.

Beefy as ****
reklawxela 12.01.2018
I use this amazing snare head on my tama soundlab 14 x 7 birch bubinga snare and it?s just so deep and crisp. Almost as perfect as Ash Soan?s overdubbed deep snare sound. Simply beefy as ****. It?s also very durable and after 3 months of constant use, still is in top condition. Can?t think of any negatives!

Great head for maximum impact!
Bacchus 08.05.2014
This head is a great head for snaredrums if you want a huge sound. Tuned low or high, the multiple layers in the middle of the head (dotted area) provide a neraly overtone free, FAT sound that (in my case) cuts through every sound wall in every musical context. Personally, I tune the head on a very high pitch with very high tension and also tune my resonant head very high. I prefer to tune the resonant head a little higher than the Aquarian Hi-Energy to get maximum impact and thickness out of the sound, so that's my suggestion to everyone who wants to make it cut.

The quality of the product is remarkable, even after half a year (I use this head on my practice set) it is still very tunable and keeps tune throughout multiple sessions.

For this price it's definitely worth trying out, I can't imagine anyone being dissappointed by a head like this. Just my two cents!

Super Metal!

The first time I put this on, it made me laugh as it turned my snare into that classic cheesy generic metal sound. But with some tuning there's a bit of variety and you can tune it how you like.

It's a little pricey, but worth it in my opinion.

Best snare head for Rock/Metal

This head has the great tone of Remo Ambassador batter, but with the durability of Evans Hybrid.

For sensitive sound just play outside the middle patch and the sound will be just like Ambassador.
