Most durable and very warm coated heads
Anonymous 19.09.2016
I was playing coated Remo heads since I started learning drums. I really liked the warmth that those heads were providing but the quality of the coating.... if you hit anything more than moderate, or if you hit with the tip it's immediately gone... and tuning was not great either. I personally did not like the sound of Evans so I decided to give Aquarian a try.
The sound is very warm (only slightly less warm then Remo) and punchy. Very pleasant sounding and versatile heads.
The durability and look is amazing, hats off. It denies to get damaged even if you try to damage it. The coating simply does not wears out even after months. And the coating stays white throughout this time, it always look like new!
Tuning is also much better and they are cheaper than competitors.

Highly recommended!

Only problem you can face is with drum manufacturers that produce slightly oversized cells like f.e. Gretsch. It might get hard to fit it.

Pros: very nice, warm sound; extreme coating durability; nice tuning; looks like new all the time; cheaper than Remo/Evans
Cons: might be hard to fit in some cells

For a darker sound and indestructible coating, use these!
James4797 28.05.2014
I experimented with all the main manufacturers heads on my snare drum. The coating on an Aquarian head definitely lasts longer then on any other make of drum head. It never seems to wear. The sound characteristics of Aquarian heads, however, are quite dark. I find remo the brightest, Evans in the middle, and Aquarian definitely the darkest of the 3 in sound.

The response of these heads is very good, the quality and coating is excellent, but what I would say is choose your heads according to the sound you want. I tend to want a brighter sound these days, but you can use these on, say, a steel snare drum to make it sound more 'woody', and if I was to use my drum kit for teaching, I would fit it with these heads as they last so well.

Excellent basic snare head
Nonsensei 08.01.2021
Comparable to the Ambassador or G1, this is your 'run-of-the-mill' one ply coated head. Probably the best option if you aren't sure what to get, easier to muffle if needs be rather than unmuffle a head that's already got some dampening on it.

Sounds just as it should, durable, in every regard for me it's on par with its aforementioned competitors. Aquarian's coating might be a little bit more coarse, so if you're a brush player, that might be something to consider. Otherwise, I can't tell much of a difference in terms of tonality or quality between the brands.

Amazing

The tonality is wonderful, I've previously used Evans on my snare and am still using them on my toms as they are great heads. However I find the tonality of the evans slightly plasticky and bright which works well for me on the toms. I was using the power centre on my snare and it is a great head however the trade off for the increased durability is a loss of sensitivity due to the patch. I find the Aquarian texture coated to have a slightly warmer and less bright tonality. I've used it continously for a month, every day (give or take a day) 3 to 4 hours a day, I have my own soundproofed drum room. As an open handed player I have no restrictions regarding the height of my snare stick height so I think the term gorilla is probably not inappropriate. The only marks on the head are from brushes leaving that grey residue which I can wipe away. Otherwise the head is unblemished. I am incredibly impressed. Also as it is a single ply head you can damp it to the appropriate level for your application.

M
Aquarian, just fabulous drumheads!
Mark6223 27.01.2017
I've been using Aquarian drumheads for a number of years now on my Gretsch USA Custom kits. For me they tend to fit far better than some other brands and as a result offer fuller range tuning of the drum as you don't need to tension high just to get the head to seat.

I've also found the coating on these heads to far outlast any others on the market.

All in all I've found Aquarian drumheads to generally last longer, keep in tune far longer and all at a lower price than the other top brands.

10 out of 10 for Roy Burns and Aquarian for these super drumheads!

If you play brushes regularly, especially un-miced these heads are a God send. Rougher coating than any other brand (yet still very playable) mean an increase in volume plus it doesn't wear or 'gum up' like some other brands can after extended use. Great sounding heads!

This is a very nice drumhead. Works well on toms, but I like it especially on my snare drums. The coating is amazingly durable, and it simply makes my drums sound fantastic. What more could you ask for?

Fantastic Head!
Anonymous 21.06.2016
Currently in the process of moving all snare drums over to aquarian heads. There's nothing to beat them for quality and their coating is super durable. They just make my snares sound more musical than anything I've used in the past.
I love the real resonant tone from the texture coated.
Fast and reliable delivery from thomann as always.
