This is a noise free, reliable and very well built active preamp for bass guitar! I have used it to replace a noisy preamp in an older bass, and I am very satisfied! Not only did the noise disapear, but it now sounds louder and deeper. Don't be fooled by the price, this is a great preamp! Best for the buck out there, no doubt about it!

splendid piece of kit.
this brings a bit more life into the old axe, it does however highlight any earth issues and pick up wiring conflicts.
my aria p2 has a single and hum bucker, they had to be wired in reverse of there original wiring which brought to my attention earthing problems....simple, need new pickups. bummer.
enhances the basses top mid and bass with a real difference.
the blend button is a bit harsh and doesn't really give a lot of range and it wont work full stop without a battery... keep a spare at hand.
real easy to fit and im sure once you got through the positioning and wiring you'll be reasonably impressed. I am.

For the price this is a very good set. Was surprised by how little static or unwanted noise there was considering the reasonable price of the product. Would buy this product again if needed. Only problem was with the wiring diagram on Artec's own website. The wiring of the jack socket is wrong in the diagram which could lead some customers to think there is a fault with the set. Luckily i figured this out and am very pleased with the end result.

Pre Amp is of decent quality ( Great for the price) but you do have to be careful when fitting it as the connectors are not as sturdy as it’s significantly more expensive competitors. Fitted at 18Volt. The end result gives a big difference it enable you to boost the guitars standard sound in all the right places. The split Treble Bass knob You can alter your sound significantly from scooping out the lows or highs to using the extra db’s of gain to push a valve amp to get fantastic sounds. Really brought the guitar to life

It canceled single pickup hum almost completely. My bass now has nicer sound. The eq controls are responsive enough, I can get wide variety of tones. Very happy with the purchase

Unreal value for money, lots of bang for buck. Very east to fit and very tidy wiring, no noise, great product. Bad points instructions…or lack of detailEd instructions, there are diagrams on the net and on the product page, so if you know what your doing then you won’t have too many issues, if your a bit new to electronics and soldering it could be a cause for frustration.

Overall one of the best buys, cracking product!

Easy to wire into any setup, I've used one for a dual pickup bass and one on a single pickup bass. Excellent sound for the money, instructions are easy to follow - they are on site. You will need to add your own stereo jack yourself. Best bang for buck active preamp on the market.

easy install, good tonal range

I got this to replace the dead preamp in a Hohner B Bass. Once I had the old pre-amp and controls removed, installing this took about half an hour.
All pots work smoothly. Tonal range of high & low boost/cut is substantial. ALmost too much as at the extremes, tones are not very usable, but there is a vast range of usable tones inside the extremes.
