never owned the og but had a tr8 and a tr08 and while they were fun they didn't sound as good as this, the poly rhythm option, on the fly step and note repeat, quick mutes are all great extras, a fun machine to interact with on the fly.

Good reproduction of 808 sounds, nice artifacts wen pushed, clap is rough. Great addition of extra features not on 808, poly is a stand out. Midi sync to pc is laggy.
