The Behringer Xenyx X1204 USB looks versatile on paper, but in practice it’s a disappointing mixer. The mic preamps are noisy and thin, making vocals and low‑level sources sound brittle and lifeless, while the EQ feels blunt and unmusical, with little room for subtle shaping. The built‑in USB interface is clearly an afterthought: limited routing, mediocre conversion quality, and no real usefulness beyond quick demos. Build quality doesn’t inspire confidence either, with cheap, wobbly knobs and a cramped layout.
