Review on Boss BF-3
I found the Boss BF-3 to be an excellent addition to my pedal collection as it is a two in one pedal, you get a tremolo effect as well as multiple flange effects. The tremolo effect can be used with the flange at the same time or without the flange and on its own. I found this fantastic as you really get your money's worth with it. It is a very sturdy pedal on top of that. I have had no problems with it and I have had it with well over a year now. This boss pedal is to a high standard and creates no hiss. The Ultra flange option gives you a more intense flange sound which i found very useful. For a more subtle sound the standard one fitted my requirements perfectly. The only disadvantage with the pedal is that it can take a long time to find the right flange sound you want as you have to create it yourself. However for me I found that it added to the diversity of the pedal. I would highly recommend this pedal to someone who wants to make their guitar sound more interesting.

Boss BF-3
This flanger can go from subtle to extreme, and offers sonic possibilities for rotary, chorus, gate & vibrato effects also.
Nice features:
- Seamless transition from bypass to effect.
- Bass & Guitar inputs: accepts a wide frequency response, which is useful with synths as well.
- Low noise, it doesn't distort the signal, nor does it self-oscillate (shriek) undesirably with high resonance settings.
- Stereo output: really interesting for stereo and rotary flanging possibilities.
- Tap tempo: always useful.
- Momentary Flange: useful for studio precision.
I would have liked to have a depth setting for the gate/panning (as it is on 100% wet, but then again this is a flanger!)
Overall the sound quality is really good, at higher depth setting more of a chorus (detuned) sound is created - this may or may not be your desired effect

Solid flanger, but I prefer the BF-2
Once you get it adjusted it sounds good, but the feeling and sound of an old BF-2 I bought is better to my ears.
This one has some great modes that the BF-2 is missing, but I didn't find myself using them too much
