Great as master keyboard - not for the sound
whiterodec 16.02.2022
I bought it for the design. I'm developing a product to help people to play the keyboard and I was looking for a very portable keyboard. This keyboard is the first in a line of very portable keyboards by Casio. The sound however is not great. The samples in memory are too short and the decay release seems to be simulated, which is audible in piano samples. That is why the same keyboard is now available with excellent sound as the CT S1. The big advantage of this keyboard is the portability. If you just want to use this as a masterkeyboard with chordana or another app then this is a great choice, but otherwise get the CT S1. Anyhow, I'm happy that Casio made a great choice to produce portable keyboards with a great design. Not everyone needs weighted 88 key pianos. 61 keys are sufficient for most music, and the fact that you can power it from a couple of rechargeable batteries is more important than you would think. It makes the keyboard as handy as a guitar. If you care about the sound then get the CT S1.

Good for beginners

The keys are plastic-ey. Sound isn't great tbf, however you get 100+ sounds. Midi uses USB 2.0 micro-B. However, plug in this piece through electric guitar pedals and you have a hit, but with most keyboards hat would be the case. Can understand the portability etc but honestly just get yourself a good keys for around £300-500 and not be disappointed.
