Solid pickups for the price
I bought these pickups to replace the stock pickups on my MIM jazz bass. I was searching for a more round tone with more midrange. Neck position was most important - I wanted it to be more P bass like. Comparing to the stock single coil pickups, these have more bass and low mids, higher output and overdrive the amp sooner. Neck pickup sounds close to a P bass now. I wired the pickups with two 500k volume pots and 1 meg tone pot to retain the treble and it's a pretty good combo. More lows and mids and highs are still present.

Fascinating
The design of these is fascinating to me. They're humbucking, but in a way where if you wire them incorrectly sound comes from only either the E and A or the D and G. Led to a lot of confusion.
Instructions were clear and even provided some novel idas. pups were easy to install and even come with some easy to cut foam to provide some padding. They loook damn cool too in a naked wood bass. Pure black.
Unfortunately tonewise they sound a little P-Bass like to me, which is precisely what i was trying to avoid. They are very hot and round in their sound as oppposed to smooth like a jazz pup should be. That's preference of course.
