Used as a neck pickup on my ibanez guitar

This pickup is designed and used by John Petrucci, guitarist of Dream Theater. I had the EMG 81/85 set on my ibanez and wanted to change to passive pickups and decided to go for this Liquifire pickup neck position....well, I made the best decision ans it gave me what I really wanted.....warmth, nice tone, and clarity....especially when playing full chords, you can clearly hear every note ringing.....and for lead melodies....awesome!!

When setting up this pickup, pickup height is crucial...setting this pickup close to the strings may cause string buzz and even dirtier notes and when setting it away from the strings, power is lost so you have to find your own sweet spot to get the best results.

Am planning to buy a sterling guitar....will definitely upgrade its pickups to the liquifire in the neck position!!

Great neck pickup

This was bought as a neck replacement based on the recommendations on the DiMarzzio web site for basswood bodied guitars. easy to fit with no issues if you can use a soldering iron.

wow, what an improvement over the standard sound. better tone, sustain and higher output. good for blues rock and jazz, can be split to get great single coil tones too. the higher output means you can send a valve amp into overdrive a lot earlier adding to the range of sounds you can get from your guitar

The really good bit is Thomann price is better than any in the UK!!

Really good stuff

I used these to upgrade my Ibanez RG series humbuckers. Being a JP fan, I absolutely love these. They really produce a really rich sound. It is one of the few humbuckers that I used that really respond well to tone knob adjustments on the guitar. In that sense they are very versatile. The cleans are also really good. Loving them! Recommended if you are into Dream Theater type of sound.

Nothing liquid about the attack. Quite fizzy in most guitars with distortion.
