Ce 1970 est une petite bombe.
Contrairement à ce qui est dit dans le précédent commentaire l’eq n’agit pas sur les voix mais uniquement sur l’entrée DI. Par contre il fait très bien son job et on peut même booster le signal bref travailler le rendu que l’on souhaite. Avec une basse ou une guitare acoustique c’est excellent.
Les entrée micros parametrables à souhait sont superbes, du gain sans souffle pour tous types de micros avec de la musicalité ce qui est assez rare.
La partie compresseur est excellente, les commandes réagissent à la moindre sollicitation, les fonctions big/air sont bien pensées et cerise sur le gâteau la fonction link permet de faire du mastering et bien sûr le sidechain est pris en compte avec un eq ou tout autre signal en commande.
Les plus :
- Prise en main facile avec les fonctions big/air
- Qualité de restitution
- Pas de souffle même en poussant la bête
- Gain des entrées micros qui permet tout type de micros
- compresseur efficace et musical
- entrée DI complètement paramètrable
- sidechain ou pas
Les moins
- Boutons un peu cheap et vitre vu-mètre en plastoc à voir dans le temps
Conclusion
Cet appareil est un véritable couteau suisse qui fait très bien le taf avec un niveau de qualité assez impressionnant pour le prix. Sa construction n’est pas aussi chiadée que sur un Manley ou Avalon mais ce n’est pas le même tarif non plus mais question rendu/fonctionnalités par contre il n’a pas du tout à rougir et vous ne serez pas déçu du résultat.

Ho avuto il piacere di testare il Drawmer 1970 su diverse fonti, in uno studio dove non è utilizzata nessuna DAW in nessun punto della catena di registrazione/mixaggio.


Fase 1 – Preamplificatori Microfonici:

Il suono dei preamplificatori è pulito e molto musicale, se bypassato il compressore, non viene introdotto il minimo colore o distorsione armonica.
L'ho testato con uno Shure SM7B, che è noto per avere bisogno di molto gain, e la pulizia, anche al massimo del guadagno, è veramente una cosa meravigliosa in questo oggetto, attenzione, ho detto pulizia, che in nessun caso deve essere intuita come sterilità, anzi, la sua musicalità è fantastica e noto che una voce passata attraverso il 1970 è anche più semplice da mixare.


Fase 2 – Equalizzatore:

L'equalizzatore, accessibile unicamente dal jack frontale dell'unità, è mirato nell'enfatizzare esattamente quelle frequenze che cerchiamo con cura nei più complicati equalizzatori parametrici, in poche parole, che sia una voce, un synth o quello che preferite, perché eccelle in tutto, il limitato nelle frequenze ma estremamente potente e utilizzabile equalizzatore, renderà i vostri suoni qualcosa di veramente pronto per essere commercializzato. Se accoppiato al compressore per aggiungere un po' di calore diventa una potente arma per far resuscitare i morti, ma anche per dare una splendida visibilità e carattere in più a suoni già registrati bene.
Con una Korg M1 è stato fenomenale! Provare per credere!


Fase 3 – Compressore FET:

Il compressore è in stile Drawmer, caldo e utile su transienti diversi, ma noto un miglioramento rispetto al mio DL241.
I parametri di attacco e rilascio rispondono subito ai controlli.
L'ho trovato molto utile in particolare sul bus di batteria, su voci aggressive e non, e per dirla tutta non mi dispiace neanche sul mix intero in mastering, Ripeto che per i synth è il massimo!


In conclusione vorrei complimentarmi con gli ingegneri dell'azienda Drawmer che offrono prodotti eccezionali a prezzi molto concorrenziali, accessibili anche a chi purtroppo non è (ancora...) ricco ma ama creare prodotti musicali col cuore e non col computer.
Per chi è interessato a sentire il Drawmer 1970 in azione, le voci del disco “Incubi Notturni” dei C.H.U.D. che uscirà a breve, sono state completamente registrate con uno di questi.
