Budget Carbon Copy with quality
Anonymous 28.03.2015
I consider this pedal a budget Carbon Copy. This is definitely not a bad thing though - I've always thought the MXR was a bit overpriced. It has a pretty much identical feature set - blend, delay time and feedback, as well as switchable modulation. Straight out of the box the modulation is a bit goofy - you'll need to open up the pedal and adjust the internal trimpot for depth. It's a shame there isn't a trimpot for rate either, but if you NEED more control over the modulation the Memory Boy, also by EHX, would suit you better. It's a bit annoying that you have to remove the back of the pedal to adjust the modulation but it only takes a few minutes. The delay time offered is very short, but I wouldn't say it was a draw back. With this kind of analogue delay you're probably wanting to thicken up your sound a bit, which doesn't require more than a few hundred milliseconds. It's easy to get this pedal to self oscillate if noise-making is your thing though, in my opinion, self-oscillation starts too early on the feedback dial. There was no massive flaw with this pedal, but ultimately it didn't suit my amp, which is already a bit dark - the delay just sounded like mud.

It's EHX but what about the volume?
Fredric 18.06.2014
Well, it sounds good, it's small and it looks good on the pedal board. It doesn't take up a lot of space and it's Electro Harmonix. But the memory toy have one big flaw; the volume is louder with the pedal engaged than when off. Makes it pretty useless in my opinion, unless you will keep it on all night. I can't recommend this.

Great pedal if it works
AlessandroCc 18.07.2017
Unfortunately this pedal is afflicted by two problems
1. It works well only with the original power supply (not included) otherwise the effect is bland. The original supply is 9.4V
2. It has a design fault so sometimes it goes mute. I sent it back but it got fixed during the trip so thomann didn't exchange it. Unfortunately the problems sometimes come back. If you look online you can see it's a common problem on the EHX switches

Just don't like the sound of this delay
Anonymous 08.02.2015
Standard stompbox from the nano serie, so It's build to last. Features are okay, but I just can't get the sound I want from this pedal. It's a too dark, bit to much coloring the sound. I've used analog delays before, and sure they are all a little dark sounding, but this one is just a little too much to my liking.

Decent slimmed down delay
MattiasG 23.04.2014
Decent for its price.
Not a top end effect for studiowork but works fine live.
Steady built and can probably take a good amount of stomping.
It does what it is supposed to do and doesnt add too much noise.

Pretty good pedal to jam with
SPAG 26.07.2022
I've had a lot of fun over the years with this pedal and it is great to play with some nice digital delay but what this pedal lacks is a tap tempo.
