The one pedal you need, really
I got this for the freeze function and figured, why get a basic freeze (EHX Ego) when you can add some synth functions. It does these things excellently, making tonally rich backgrounds for playing over. The effects are interesting too - for example you can use the pitch shifter to make your freeze arpeggiate or freak out. What really sold me though is the fact that in effects mode, you can access a whole bunch of EhX‘s best effects (electric lady flange, chorus, echo, delay, phaser, tremolo, pitch shift, filter) in one place. A perfect pedal to always have plugged in so you have access to effects that maybe aren’t your ideal, but good enough for most uses. Add an expression pedal to get even more dynamics in the freeze or the effects.
One year on - this thing stays on my board. It is easy to dial in both synth tones and standard effects sounds.

I m a steel tongueplayer (Aquadrum) and this pedal allowed me to use my H9 ,hog2 and spacereverb in versatile way playing solo over accompany at the same time! Very well designed .Could be even better when the return entrance allow stereo jug(efects)too like Lehle does.

Amazing pedal ! Nearly unlimited options
I bought this pedal after seeing it was on Turnover's pedalboard and seeing some videos about it on youtube. But honestly this pedal is capable of way more.
You can do great pads with the latch mode.
But if you want some kind of reverb type effect, the auto mode can provide that as well, with mads that fade in and fade out as you want.
Honestly the sounds you can get with this are incredible for more ambient parts.
And all the effects are all usable on their own if you ever need them
Only negative point I have : the pads can get a bit too bright and harsh, but you can always add the filter to counter that (it is included in the effects of the pedal)

The best synth engine pedal
I use the E.H. Superego PLUS on a pedalboard for electric guitar. On caparison with the first Superego E.H. made a huge improvement on the features (plus effects & control pedal ) and the handling (three momentary switches) of this sophisticated machine!
Highly recommended for experimenting with sound textures & manipulate sonic scapes far beyond your expectations as a Guitar player!

Has a steep learning curve
You really need to spend time with this pedal to learn how to use it, but once you know how to use it it is great to use for soundscapes and stuff like that. Sometimes I bypass the freeze functionality completely just to use it as a multi-effect. It is pricy though.

Superego Supersustain Supersus
This pedal does what it says. Really good sound, not too 'static' has a nice organic feel. only tried it with guitar yet, probably good with synths and other things. can totally recommend.
Saving presets is a bit weird, also the exp pedal acts in two ways when the fx section is ON/OFF so beware of that.

A real Plus
I use the pedal in an ambient and funk setup, with
a whammy in send/return.
When used for pad sounds it is better used with the onboard filter, otherwise is fine.
I wish there would be a stereo option, but that would be a double plus.
Not an everyday pedal, and something that needs a try to understand it.
