ENGL = Divine
I use this cab with an ENGL Savage 120.
The cab looks amazing. The metal grid is beyond solid. It just breathes Metal/Rock.
It replaces my good old Marshall cab. The quality of the sound in 8Ohm is perfect for me. It roars without sounding shrill. The clean channel sounds very pure as well; a warm sound, not crispy at all.
Conclusion: I am more than pleased with this purchase and the perfect delivery service from Thomann as well.

Surprisingly a very nice cab!
So I was thinking to buy the XXL version but decided to go with the oversized Mesa cab instead and instead of the traditional Mesa cab - with this one.
Let me tell you that you shouldn’t be deceived by almost complete lack of reviews on YouTube.
This cab is perfect.
It is not huge, obviously, weights less than the XXL, yet it is made to project the mids forward as much as possible. The absence of the cloth grille makes the speakers project the high frequencies without a problem, however it may sound harsh, especially with a not broken-in speakers. By the way; the speakers in this cab are the Chinese-made, so I had to buy the UK ones and replace myself. Oh and let me tell you that this cab is well-designed internally, so you don’t need to resolder anything as the wires use the spade connectors!
The sound of any speaker here is going to be changed because of the cab design. It uses thick wood, metal grille, is front-loaded. All to make the bass less massive as usual and mid to be heard at all costs. I am not sure why they wanted that but it still sounds awesome even that way.
I tried many speakers in it, first it was equipped with Chinese v30s, then the UK ones, and now I put just one Karnivore at the top to see what it brings to the table and oh my, it adds so much! It adds so much of the missing “balls” in the sound the v30 don’t bring in this cabinet (they probably do in the XXL version). I decided to let my cab be “ugly” and have 3 vs 1 different speakers, yes. Because it just sounds great this way, and I am a fan of v30s a bit more than Karnivore still, so I don’t want to overpower the v30 with Karnivore.
The look of it, it is damn aggressive and makes my corner look amazing with an amp on-top.
One cons is that some may think the sound produced by the cab initially is “too sterile”, “dead”, “lifeless”, “ice cold”. This is true, until you break in the v30s. You have to go through that, yes, but it sounds great after. Initially I was disappointed with the purchase but decided to give it a try.
I wanted to sell it a few times. I still didn’t. The first time because the sound was too boxy because of “all mids go forward” and that the bass frequencies were buried. It went away after the speakers broke in and it became more balanced. The bass became punchy and tight, even though not as big. Then, once I put a Karnivore in it, it grew the balls it needed. It just all speaks that the cab itself is great. It is not worse or better than the XXL. It is just different, and smaller doesn’t mean worse, think of it as of just a different design.
I think this cab will stay and I won’t even try the XXL version. This one is just damn good already. And I was surprised to find almost no reviews of it, as all of them are about the XXL version instead.

Beast of a cab!
This is an engl can with V30s in it, there are very few cans which give and absolutely brutal and cutting output (mesas for example are also ace).
I use this with an engl amp and as such the pairing is phenomenal. I stopped using a cheap crate cab and bought this when the transistors went and I have never looked back.
8 ohm cab this one and is built like a tank, proper refined build will never cause you any issues.
One thing I would say is that you need to be strong to lift this. Mesas weigh in at about 37kgs whereas this beast is an incredible 50kgs! Strong lats or reliable roadies / mates will be needed when lifting this one.
Looks totally metal on stage and there's no 2 ways about it, it packs a tight fisted punch anywhere anytime any place.
My other guitarist is now looking at getting a new setup because this just cuts his out of any live mix currently. That's not the best reason to buy it, but if you want to be heard anywhere then this is the cab for you!!
Engl = metal!!
