The SM 58 for drums
I first heard of the EV PL 35 when our bass player got one to test and gave it to me for my opinion. So I clamped it on my snare drum, a TAMA Imperialstar 5.5" by 14".
It was a bit hard to get it on at first because it the clamp was a bit cold so it was kind of stiff but when I had it on there everything was working properly. The mic is easy to adjust and very heavy, which is a fact for the solidness and it definitly can take a beating. It is like an SM58 undestroyable.
The one thing I'm a bit disapointed is that the XLR jack is not far away from the positioning bar so you need a corner XLR jack to get every angle to position.
But it works fine with a normal XLR jack, so it's just a minor problem.
The sound of the PL 35 is amazing. First I thought that it wouldn't sound as good as an e604 from Senheiser but I believe it sounds better. And the fact that this product cost like peanuts is even better.
Pros:
- inexpensive
- easy to adjust
- sounds nice (snare, toms, guitar)
- solid
Cons:
- angle of the jack is to near to the positioning bar

Amazing value
I used them mainly to mic drums in my studio.
Bought 3 of them to use in my studio. They sound amazing for the price, and are very sturdy and well built (really well built!) I like the angle feature a lot since it's complicated to fit longer mics beneath the cymbals sometimes, depending on the set.
I have only two minor complaints about them, which are the clamps, which are a bit hard to place (specially on toms with floating system, and I imagine the will wear a bit quick), and the crazy output they have... I need to pad the volume on my interface otherwise the signal is a bit too hot. But this will vary from interface.
Overall, great value product!

EV PL 35
I ordered four of these mic's after reading some reviews online, and have to say I wasn't disappointed. For the money they are fantastic, great sound for live or recording and they have a nice feel to them. The design is brilliant, allowing cymbals to be quite close to the toms without the mic's getting in the way. The plastic clamps take a while to get used to, it feels like they're going to snap when placing on the rim but they don't. Once fitted, stay in place solidly. Highly recommend these. :)

Decent Tom Mics...
I ordered 3 pl35 mics last year and I'm using them since last summer, I recorded various albums with them. Totally solid and works great very versatile... Also try a pl35 as snare bottom mic !

full iron body that feels like it'll outlast a nokia 3310.
soundwise: it's more neutral than a md21 (which is hyped AF in lower mid when you compare these two side by side)
the neutral sound makes it great on snare and snare bottom too.

Impressed!
This is the first EV pl35 mic I bought for one of my toms to test. I gave it a chance right away with no much investigation and because of the price. I'm using it live on a stage and the sound is fantastic! Now my tom really cuts through and I am about the get another 3 for the rest of my toms. Nice price and you get some piece of quality mics. Well done EV
