Very dry and flat
But that's not at all bad. Maybe you want a flat sound as opposed to some reverb.
I have put this on a wood shell snare and also put a wide snare on the resonant head. All works great. Dry, flat sound. Rim shots deadened.
It has its own unique sound and if you are looking to have a change of sound on your snare this can be that change.

Controlled sustain and overtones
This head works well for jazz and music with a lot of rolls, it's responsive with not too much sustain or overtones. I personally prefer a heavier grain for brushes but this one is a good alround skin, is not so "fat" in the sound though, more neutral.

Dry for wet
Real controle for those anoying overtones!
Great for snares with metal shells, specially aluminum.
Also good for classic wood shells.
