Evans EQ bass drum mute
So long, and fare thee well pillows and old bedsheets! As soon as I set this up, and tuned the bass drum, I knew I had finally found my perfect tone.
Who would have thought something so simple, would make such a huge difference to the overall tone, and dynamic of the bass drum sound.
It adds just the right amount of dampening, and takes out those horrible high ends from a tighter tuned bass drum, and accentuates the attack, and dynamic of the lower tunings.
A must have for every drummer. An amazing bit of gear, for a fantastic price.
You won't be disappointed!

Effective Solution To Replace Blankets and Pillows
For years I have had pillows and blankets stuffed into my bass drum as a means of muffling and dampening the resonance of the drum as I have always preferred the sound of a quick, short attack on the bass drum. Although I liked the dampening these provided, they did prove to be a bit unsightly when using clear skins.
I opted to try this product as a more compact solution and was pleasantly surprised by its quality. The pad has two sides that are designed to rest against the batter head just under where the beater sits. Each offers different amounts of sound dampening so can be easily configured to get the exact sound you are looking for. I tested both, before settling on the smaller, less dampening side. The material it is made of feels of good quality. Attached to the pad are velcro patches that can be stuck to the inside of the drum shell for a quick and stable installation.
Overall I found it be a quick and effective to use product with clear and immediate results. Highly recommended!

Lighter than the original Evans pillow, less intrusive
This was always a great product, much loved by pro drummers, but my original one from many years ago is much thicker - this one has the "flap" much thinner and lighter, which is less intrusive on the drumhead movement - a good thing. Stop treating your kick drum like a washing machine, get all those clothes out of it and put this pad instead. You'll be amazed.

TONAL JUSTICE
Filling your bass drum with too much "dampening " can make you kick more like a "tick ". Not enough and it becomes a resonant mess.
These EQ pads are nothing less than fantastic.
It really sets your bass drum free!
Of course, it won't tune your heads for you, but even if you don't tune your bass drum heads, this thing is magical!
If you're a head tuner (like me), then these pads make your bass drum a head turner. They really bring out the sound of your shell and heads more than anything ive tried before.
I used to be "a pillow guy", thought these types of things were snake oil, but I have to admit I was so very wrong.
Whether you play live, in the studio, your local bar or your bedroom, ditch those duvets and pillows that are choking your sound. Get these EQ pads. I even got a second one to put in my Break Beats kit. They're a game changer.

good and easy way to controll your b.drum
inexpensive way to controll your bass drum. However, you can always use a towel. However this looks a little more professional in your rehearsal space. but it does pretty much the same.

great little pillow
Offcourse you could use any other pillow, or blanket or what not, but this pad is equipped with hook and loop fastener so it makes it firm in place and it is easy for readjustments. Also the glue on the strips is not too firm so you could actually remove it from bass drum completely without leaving any glue residue. Also one side is wider than the other so depending on you kick drum size you can feet it perfectly.
Good product.
Good product.

Works for the thing it's made!
I bought it for my beginners Millennium drum set to make most from its 22x18 bass drum after changing the drum heads. And it really makes a big difference. I'm now really satisfied with the low end, punch and having less annoying overtones.
From technical side it's attaching to drum with Velcro straps so it won't move around from drum beats. Also both ends of this pad are slightly different, so you can try and experiment of putting it in a few ways.
Of course one could use a pillow or blanket, but I guess it’s just about using things for what they have been designed and made to... And with this Evans damping pad you've got just the right size and dimensions for the function it does!

Easy way to dampen a bass drum
Great product which is really easy to fit. Provides options for carefully placing it according to your preferred sound. My only concern when I used one previously, was the fact that the sticky Velcro base that attaches to the inside of the bass drum is pretty much (although I would never try to remove it once stuck down firmly) a permanent fixture, as removing it would probably remove any lacquer or finish inside the drum with it, as the glue has probably bonded to the wood. Not a major issue for me, as I'm likely to always use one of these pillows now, whatever kit I'm playing. Looks far more professional and is lighter than an old bedsheet or grubby pillow too!
