I’ve had two different units with serious problems on both
The Audient EVO 16 offers nice quality for the price, with decent preamps, smart features like Smartgain, and a very user‑friendly software mixer.
However, my real‑world experience has been very disappointing: I’ve had two different units with serious problems on both, including low or zero gain on some channels that occasionally required reboots, and 4 ms input latency over a direct USB‑C connection with a MacBook M2 Pro, which makes the unit unreliable and unusable for recording and live use. Audient support also confirmed that it is a hardware issue.
On paper it is a decent interface, but given the repeated hardware issues, I cannot recommend it to anyone who needs a stable, professional setup for critical recording or live work. I used the Audient iD series for 7+ years without any problems, but the EVO series is not even close to that level of reliability.. :(
