I bought these snares for a very specific job - I own an early 1980's Yamaha 9000 snare drum which requires a longer snare wire. Sadly the Yamaha wires are very hard to come by so ordered this just on the off chance that I might do the job. And do the job it does!
Now the drum is set up with these wires it plays like a dream, the sensitivity is extraordinary and the backbeat is fat and full.

Nachdem die Snare des Proberaum-Set's meiner Band schon bessere Tage gesehen hatte und nach einer Generalüberholung schrie, habe ich mir diesen Teppich bestellt.

Der Teppich führt über den Kesselrand hinaus und ermöglich so eine komplettflächige Auflage der Spiralen auf dem Fell. Die Metallplatten an beiden Enden dämpfen somit den Sound nicht in irgendeiner unerwünschten Art ab, sondern geben dem Teppich und dem Reso-Fell mehr Freiheit.
Die Ansprache ist dadurch sehr direkt und leichtgängig.

Bei der Snare handelt es sich um eine ältere Yamaha Stahlsnare in 14x6,5 (geschätzt) mit REMO Ambassador Snare als Reso und einem REMO Emperor Coated als Schlagfell. (war vorher schon drauf und noch in Ordnung) Diese Kombi mit dem Teppich ergibt eine wunderbare Teppichansprache, ohne nervigem Mitrascheln, wenn die "Saitenjungs" mal wieder nicht leiser drehen können... ;-)
