Not my favorite

Cheap enough stand. Good weight. I like the extender latches, but I really don't like the the knob to adjust the angle of the boom arm.

Not a bad tripod!
12.04.2016
We have looked for a tripod, which is not quite as expensive as a K & M is, but can still be used well or frustration and have not been disappointed so far. With us it is in the bedroom studio on a snare, but it is robust enough to walk from stage to stage.

The tripod has a metal base and is therefore quite stable. The legs could have been somewhat longer, especially with this model with pull-out gallows, but it is certainly safe. It is very well processed and does not look bad (the green rings can be replaced by the supplied black).

The "innovative" quick-release clamp on the gantry output works well, in "pull-out direction" it clamps very well, but can be more easily twisted than a traditional screw. For most applications but probably not a problem, there must be a very heavy microdran to produce such torque.

Only the locking screw for the gallows tilt is somewhat spongy. By this I do not mean that it does not hold well - the tripod holds secure with tightened screws and has so far (however in the new condition) not loosened.
With other tripods, it was only that it took about half a turn to get from "loose" to "tight", and perhaps a little more, if one wanted to wear it bomb-proof. With this tripod "crank" one two full turns, in which the screw more and more attracts. This is so far quite unusual and may be annoying if you have to adjust the tripod often. Also I had initially afraid to make the threads broken, because the screw had not given "feedback". Maybe they are just well-greased. Who knows.

The screws are coated with rubber and have a good grip. I can not say whether the rubber can get loose in hard use. Maybe. All in all, a successful tripod as I think. I suppose, this also applies to the other tripods of Gravity, which are already built up practically modular. If problems arise, I will presumably as far as possible here. But the first impression is quite convincing.

Drum Mics
Miking up and recording a drum kit is a fairly complicated procedure, and this can apply equally to choosing the right mics for the job.
