Perfectionist Tool
snakeyay 18.06.2020
If you are recording a guitar, you probably ran into an issue with some weird sounds and overtunes heard in the recording. That is exactly what this little gadget is here to remove. After putting this on my ESP LTD EC-1000 I did not notice a difference - but after putting it on my Epiphone Les Paul Special, I could clearly hear the difference.

That's more a testament of how awesome ESP's are, but regardless, you will most likely not hear the difference in a live setting (unless you have super awesome in-ear monitors, ala Matt Heafy, where you can hear the most minute imperfections).

If you love recording your guitar and want to get rid of overtones even after playing the section perfectly, this should be a weapon of choice in your arsenal.

Bonus point: Personally, it also looks cool on a guitar.

You get what you pay for.

It did seem expensive to buy and I was kinda doing the same thing with my hairs rubber band's but ...kinda doing it.
When i first placed it on I immediately saw and felt the difference. Sweeping has never been easier. It looks like it's made from quality materials and nice stitching. I have a feeling it will last a long time.

I use it for both my Carvin and my Hamer. I do have to point out though, that because my Hamer has a Floyd with a locking nut you can't slide it off with one hand like i can do with my Carvin, which has a Floyd, but has a plain nut with locking tuners.

Great for recroding
Jan_65 09.02.2022
I use it on my Sire bass to get rid of overtones. I mainly use it for recording – when I play for fun or with my band the overtones don't show up too much. My technique is not the best, as I don't mute all the necessary strings all the time, so this helps to get a cleaner recording. Back to practicing!

For the Steve Sheehan taps!
ssaB man 17.02.2024
The fretwrap cancels out all the extra noisy bass when I play higher on the fretboard, very easy to use, no annoying french zipper issues. If you wanna get good at tapping this can be very helpful. Also used it on my 5 string and works great there also.

It very simple to use and it gets the job done. Very suitable for recording guitar and looking cool on the headstock at the same time.

Elegant and effective

It's smaller than what I'd thought.
Discreet and elegant.
You can adjust how much tension you want on the strings, for your ideal muffling of open string ringing.
You can easily slide it up onto the headstock, when not needed, unless you have locking nuts installed.
All in all a cool and not so pricey accessory.

An industry standard in waiting.
Reeceekins 19.02.2021
I know that fret wraps are kinda the fashionable accessory to try out these days so I jumped on it and really did notice the difference in stopping certain overtones or sympathetic resonance, you may not even hear this until you have been playing a while but believe me it's there. The quality speaks for itself, everyone uses Gruvgear for a reason. Pros are you have a solid product with multiple uses from resonance to an emergency capo. And am yet to find a con, months on and the velcro is still good and the elastic is still firm and working well. All in all 10/10, great purchase.

Surtout pour l'enregistrement basse
antonihuy 30.09.2021

It kills all the noise tou don’t want to hear and makes the guitar tone sound so much tighter. Just spectacular.
