I have the basic surfliner and once I saw that there is the deluxe version with a tremolo and locking tuners and roasted Maple neck I just had to have it.
Overall the sounds are like the regular surfliner. The switching mechanism with the regular five way switch is better than the three toggle buttons on the previous version because it allows you a faster switching during live performance let's say although there can be less combinations. The location of the switch is not the best because the long handle of the jazzmaster style tremolo lays right over the switch and it's just in the way. The jazzmaster has this switch in the front and of the body for a reason...
The build quality is okay I wouldn't say it's very very accurate. To intonate it well my Luther had to move all the screws all the way to the front. The truss rod was also a little bit off. All of it was fixable but still not the best quality feeling.
Other than that I really love this guitar.
