Great guitar for a first 12-string.
Anonymous 06.03.2016
I've owned this guitar for a year or two now and have had no issues with it, it sounds excellent and is comfortable to play, it holds up really well under live conditions as well so definitely consider buying if you are interested in 12-strings, it's a good guitar to start 12-string playing on,
NOTE: if you are buying this to play JBT's 2012 "Ocean" definitely find a set of steel strings to sit on it, and get a 12-string capo. You might also want to consider getting a sub-octave pedal to go with it, this guitar does the song justice under those conditions.

I can't take the smile off my face.

I waited just over a week to get my hands on this gem of a guitar. Arrived well packaged and I was delighted when I took the cover off it, smart looking guitar. This is my first 12 string and I was a little apprehensive over the changing of strings and tuning. Now I did manage to break one string on the first go so I have had to order another set, but that hasn't taken away from the fun of playing this guitar. Got some great tips from online help videos and even with a string missing this guitar is great. The actions is superb out of the box and that wonderful jangly tone that you get from a 12 string is bright and punchy. I cannot wait to learn some songs that the 12 string is made for. And all for £130. You couldn't beat that. If you are (like me) just dipping your toes into the 12 string guitar market then you can't go wrong with the Harley Benton.

Excellent value - could do with a tuner
48hours 28.12.2017
The action was very high out of the box so filed the bridge down and had to adjust the truss rod a good bit. The tone is excellent, very full, lacks definition but at this price it's great value. A couple of finish issues, a big scratch above the 12th fret that I noticed immediately is very annoying but not worth the hassle of sending back for. I would suggest Thomann ad a fiver to the price to include a tuner in the pickup as tuning a 12 string is a pain, but overall a great buy at 111euro

Sounds great

Always wanted a 12 string acoustic, very nice quality, sounds and plays great, only problem I had was it kept breaking strings, due to a bur on the tuning post, the high octave G and the high E were culprit…

You get what you pay for

Very honest instrument, given the price. Sound is surprising good. Needs definitely setup, very hard on hands. I am an experienced guitar player, and i am in pain xD . One huge complain. The fretboard was rough as hell. It was like they forgot toy finish it. I had to use lemonoil and sandpaper, one fret after the other, to reach a decent result. Dunno if it was as supposed to be or they forgot to finish. Still, it was a slight disappointement. Nevertheless, it is a beauty and delivers more than the price promises.

Amazing for the price

As standard as it gets. Build quality is fairly cheap but expected. It’s sturdy and strong. Amazing sound with right strings. I have Ernie ball electric strings on it and it is amazing and easy to play.

P
Nice price 12 String
PaulHorahan 24.09.2013
This is an excellent choice for someone who has never played a 12 String before but wants to try one out. It won't break the bank, it is relatively easy to play (but it is a 12 string after all) and sounds good.

Suprisingly good

I bought this guitar because I needed a 12 string but first I was a bit suspicious because of the low price. I was pleasantly surprised to learn this guitar sounds way better than the price tag suggests. I have it for years now, and completely satisfied with it.

K
it's cheap and cheerful but you get a bit more than you pay for

I got mine today, first impressions:
It's surprisingly easy to play, the fretboard is quite large (good thing!!), it fills the hand well and makes barring real easy. The sound is lovely for the price point. I've not plugged it in just yet, I have a 6 string HB, also ElectroAcoustic so I imagine the sound quality should be similar. The fret edges could maybe do with a touch of a file to make them perfectly smooth but for the price I'm being picky.
I tuned it up, played for a few minutes, checked the tuning and all is good. I played on for about 2 hours before my fingers got tired with the extra workout and it held tune the entire time.
I've played for over 30 years, I've had high end and low end equipment back when I played in public and I can honestly say I'd never turn my nose up at a Harley Benton guitar, if ya just wanna play then its a no brainer for the price.
