Complementing this is a high-gloss nato neck, seamlessly joined to a blackwood fingerboard with 22 frets. The head tension can be adjusted using the 24 brackets positioned around the rim. Its six steel strings, set to a standard guitar scale length of 648mm, run across a maple/blackwood bridge and a 43mm nut, ending at sealed machine heads on the headstock that ensure stable tuning. For added comfort, an armrest is mounted to the side of the rim, making extended playing sessions more ergonomic.

Gut verarbeitetets Anfänger-Banjo mit akzeptablem Klang

Seit 2 Jahren besitze ich das 6-Saiten-Banjo Harley Benton HBJ-26. Für den Preis ist es wirklich solide verarbeitet und besitzt einen dem Preis angemessenen Klang.

Ich benutze es in meiner Band ausschließlich für Irish-Folk-Stücke sowohl zur Begleitung, als auch für Soloparts. Da es keinen Tonabnehmer besitzt, muss es logischerweise mittels (Kondensator-)Mikrofon abgenommen werden, um nicht im Gesamtmix unterzugehen (...was aber auch hin und wieder zu Rückkopplungen führen kann. Also das Mikro nicht zu nah an den Monitor ran..).

In den hohen Lagen lässt es sich aufgrund der etwas zu hohen Saitenlage nicht besonders leicht spielen, aber ansonten bin ich damit eigentlich recht zufrieden. Ein klarer Vorteil eines sechssaitigen Banjos ist natürlich, dass man auch als "Sonst-Nur-Gitarrist" ohne Erfahrung auf einem Vier- oder Fünfsaiten-Banjo von Anfang an darauf "loslegen" kann.

Von daher also bei dem Preis für jeden Banjo-Anfänger ein klarer Kauftipp!

Lieber mehr ausgeben!

Leider klingt dieses Banjo wie ein alter Kochtopf. Es geht einigermaßen mit dem Capo am fünften Bund. Wir kriegen es nicht gescheit gestimmt, und es scheppert einfach fürchterlich. Eine Schraube ist an einer schwer zugänglichen Stelle herausgefallen. Bei dem Preis kann man sicher nicht mehr erwarten, aber ich kann nur jedem raten, mehr Geld anzulegen und sich etwas Besseres zuzulegen.

Zunächst ist zu erwähnen, das der typische Sound eines Banjos Geschmackssache ist! Wer nicht allzu viel Geld für eines ausgeben will ist mit diesem Banjo von Harley Benton gut bedient! Man sollte für den Preis angemessene Erwartungen stellen und diese erfüllt es auch vollstens.

Mein Harley Benton Banjo ist mittlerweile 1 Jahr alt und somit kann ich auch behaupten, dass die Verarbeitung gut ist. Außerdem lässt es sich meiner Meinung nach gut bespielen und bereitet viel Spaß wenn man einfach Abwechslung zur "normalen" Gitarre braucht. Ich habe mir das Banjo damals ungeplant gekauft und dies bis heute nicht bereut. Es lohnt sich also immer spontan durch das Thomann Geschäft zu laufen, denn vielleicht findet man spontan sein Glück, so wie ich auch.
Alles in allem lohnt sich das Harley Benton Banjo, weil es für einen günstigen Preis eine solide Leistund abliefert.

Wenig Qualität für wenig Geld

Der Hals mußte in seiner Befestigung am Corpus nachgezogen werden. Trotzdem verstimmt sich dieses Banjo laufend während des spielens. Die Bundreinheit ist mäßig und der Sound ebenso. Die Verarbeitung geht so. Fazit: Lieber etwas mehr ausgeben und sich dann nicht ärgern.
