Terrible quality
Unhappy Dad, 21.11.2018
2 strings snapped on initial tuning - and done by an experienced violin player.
Pick-up not working at all. Instructions for set up followed exactly but not clear or detailed.
Am returning for refund straightaway. My daughter very disappointed on her birthday

Good value for money
FunGhoul, 02.12.2018
I bought the violin after a long break from playing, before I played an acoustic violin for a very long time.

The sound strongly depends on the strings:
- I first had a broken instrument that I exchanged. For both I tested the acoustic sound (yes, I know, no soundbody, anyway). The first time he was horrible, the second time I was pleasantly surprised: With much rosin, some momentum and the right strings, the acoustic even enough alone to practice fast, after all, you hold the instrument so practically to the ear. That there was such a big difference between the two instruments, I push on newer strings at the second? So far, no one is torn. So: order new strings if the included ones are a bit older!
- The E-string sounds good and clear, the A-string is fine, but D and G wheeze and hardly emit any sound at higher altitudes. With soft strings that I wanted to try to counter the rumor-like harsh sound of the pickups, it gets worse. I'll try steel strings, maybe their ringing will bring more overall sound, and guess soft strings (even if it improves the recording quality - it annoys the ear!)

To the E-part:
- Very easy to "connect" (battery clean, turn it on, headphones on it, done) - The manual is more confusing than helpful.
- Connects to a stereo via a jack. Fun! For those who currently have no amplifier at hand. The more bass, the more it sounds like a real violin.

The chin rest is uncomfortable (an unusual shape - mine were all bent differently before that - and is in the wrong place?) I do not want to hold the violin straight in front of me!). The shoulder rest is also uncomfortable and too insecure to keep the instrument safe without the support of the left hand (but that should be absolutely possible!), I am improvising with a knotted cloth. The tense neck after playing is not fun and I'm looking for a solution, but I'm worried that a conventional shoulder rest too much pressure on the plastic frame exercises.

The paint is a bit inaccurate ("I would totally disturb!" - My guitarist) and would like to be personalized with paint a bit :) I'm looking forward to it. With a more expensive violin I would not try that, that's the advantage here :)

I would not recommend an electric fiddle to beginners, because even with an amplifier you can always hear the acoustic sound, and that can be depressing if you do not know how to get more sound out of the instrument.

In spite of the negative last sentences altogether very positive: It is a very inexpensive instrument (one must be aware that even a mediocre violin costs the violin-maker fivefold), so I would have expected a poorer sound; I have not tasted what happens when you pick up the sound instead of amplifying it, but the sound of playing was also my biggest concern. You can tinker with everything else.
I suspect that it sounds better with an amplifier than an acoustic violin in the same price range, but can only appreciate it.
The complaints around are now included in the price, but both new strings and a matching shoulder rest can probably be found at no great cost.
Perfect for playing at home to try and not to be so afraid for the instrument;)
