Did I revieve a B Stock?

Pros: Neck feels good, solid knobs and switches, nice weight, sounds good, paint looks good.

Cons: Neck nut fell out during string change (not glued in and poorly fitted), unable to change lower E string without removing back cover plate as tremolo cut out was very poor (elongated) and back plastic plate was not centered when installed (not sure how they can fix this), frets not smooth (ridges in frets) causing strings to bind while playing, minor fret buzz, fretboard very very dry, excessivly long delivery with poor tracking updates from USPS. If you order one of these don't give up, it will eventually arrive.

Emailed customer care with pictures of defects, still waiting for followup on possible return or replacement.

This is my second guitar from Thomann and I do believe this could be a good guitar if these issues are resolved. After such a long delivery and such good reviews, well I kind of feel cheated.

RP
A solid purchase, considering the extremely low price
Robert Peterson 10.10.2020
I bought this guitar simply because I wanted a "Tortoise-shell" pickguard and the price was so affordable. Out of the box the setup was decent but the frets were very rough with sharp edges and an uneven crowning, but if you know how to do fretwork it'll only take an hour of your time to get the neck up to a comfortable, smooth playing level. The pickups sound adequate and the supporting electronics had no issues at all.

For a guitar that costs almost nothing I feel no regret in buying it.

Dissapointing build quality
jakijake 06.04.2021
despite the nice materials used, it is not built very well. The socket for the cable became loose after 1 day and the nut on the low e string broke after 35 days of use. Dissapointing. However the sound and feel of the guitar is good.

At the outset let me say I am a big fan of Harley Benton guitars and equipment. I have 5 plus two kits that I have built! This guitar is my least favourite but it is still not bad! The paint finish is superb, the varnished neck smooth and easy to play and the frets are finished nicely. Now for the negatives. The tuners are awful, stiff and jumpy. The pick ups are a bit monotone in sound quality. The bridge is hopeless with regard to tuning stability, I removed the trem arm and locked it down which cured that problem but a Strat type guitar without the trem is for me like runner with one leg! Not a winner. I hate the tortoise type pick guard, it looks cheap and a plain white or black one would look much better. I have a Fender Mexico strat also purchased through Thomman and it is five times better but, at five times the price! With some adjustment I have got this one playing quite nicely now. If you are prepared to work on this guitar it could be nice and perhaps I have been unlucky and got a bad one but my opinion is it would be better to get a real one, sorry HB.

Have played accoustic before purchasing this guitar. Looked very well but could not get the tone I was looking for. Have since bought an Es335 copy and think it is worth spending a bit more on a better model. Could be my style of playing also but again could not sound right.
