Its a known and excepted fact that Harting connectors are the industry standard.
There are cheaper ones available but for the sake of saving of a couple of pounds its not worth taking the chance on them.
These 24/64/108 housings are as good and reliable as the rest of the Harting range. They are easy to use and as long as you treat them with respect they won't let you down.
Its important to make sure you use the correct inserts for them and its advisable to purchase the relevant cover to protect the insert..
One thing I highly recommend when using any of the Harting range is that you buy the correct Harting tools to help assemble and dismantle the inserts as need be. You will also need to buy one of the Harting crimping tools. There are a couple of versions but any one should do the trick.
Again there are Chinese look-alike versions of all the tools on the market but take it from someone who has tried to save a pound or so they do NOT work!!

I moved to a digital mixer with front sockets (Soundcraft Ui16) for my worship group and needed to replace the patch bay.
I ordered a custom steel rack plate from a local CNC workshop and attached the housing. It works perfect.

Build quality is excellent, it looks extremely durable, the latch handles are two-part and look like they can withstand years of constant use.

Just to confirm, because it's oddly difficult to find: the handles on the socket can be removed and moved to the plug as needed. The stubs to which they attach act as latch catches on the other side.

Schon in meiner Ausbildung als Techniker hatte ich mit diesen Buchsen und den "Multipineinschüben" zu tun. Neben Harting gibt es noch andere Hersteller und Systeme. Doch ich bin immer wieder bei Harting gelandet, da es einfach günstiger ist und sehr leicht zu montieren. Wer sein Multicore noch selber crimpt oder lötet, dem sei gesagt, dass Harting schneller geht, wie ich am eigenem Leib erfahren musste.

Ich möchte dabei den Hartin Multipin Stecker auch nicht allzu viel loben, wenn man 108 Pins verbaut hat und ein Kabel verbinden möchte und das Kabel ausversehen falsch herum auf die Buchse setzt so kann es sein das man einige Pins verbiegt, da man mit dem Stecker die Pins erreicht, bevor die Codierung der Buchse das Einstecken verhindert. Vielleicht lässt sich Harting in den nächsten Jahren noch was einfallen, deshalb markiert unbedingt Eure Stecker und Buchsen, bevor Ihr Dritte Eure kabel benutzen lasst.

Ansonsten hatte ich mit dem Hartingsystem einen Ausfall nach ca. 250 Gigs, sprich ca.4 Jahren und da war auch nur ein Pin durch Unachtsarmkeit und das nichtvorhandensein eines "Steckerkondoms" verbogen. Ein Kanal war also unfunktional und nach zurückbiegen mit der Zange war wieder alles O.K. Daumen hoch für den Standard Industrieverbinder Harting.

Noch eine kleiner Anmerkung. Ein Multipinsystem ist nur lohnenswert bei Schlichtweg immer der selben Verkabelung! Möchte man ein einfaches flexibles System, sind einfach XLR und Klinkenstecker nach wie vor eine gute Wahl.

wenn es darum geht schnell und verwechslungssicher mehrere Signalwege mit einem MC zu verbinden kommt man an Harting nicht vorbei. Hier findet man alles um maßgeschneidert auf die eigenen Bedürfnisse Verbindungen herzustellen. Zeitersparnis beim Auf- und Abbau, falsche Verkabelungen gehören der Vergangenheit an.

Und nicht vergessen: das Profi-Werkzeug mit Ersatzhülse gleich mit bestellen - passiert doch schneller als man denkt, dass man den Kontakt falsch gesteckt hat.
