Good so far!

I previously owned a Hidersine Piacenza, and I always remembered it fondly. Since I was getting back into acoustic violin for traditional folk and fiddle playing, I decided to stick with Hidersine and bought the mid-range Antiqued Venezia.

So far, I'm really happy with it. I love the warm, mellow tone, and the violin looks beautiful. The included strings and bow are actually quite decent, although I plan to upgrade the strings in the future. I'm also expecting the instrument to open up a bit more as it's played over time.

If you're mainly a folk or traditional fiddler, I think this violin is definitely worth considering. Compared to many other mid-range violins I've tried, it has a much mellower sound, whereas many others sounded a little too bright or harsh for my taste.

Of course, this is just my personal preference. If you're looking for maximum projection and a brighter sound that cuts through in a classical setting, you might prefer something like an Eastman, which was also recommended to me.

These are only my first impressions since I've just received the violin. I'll update this review after I've spent more time with it, changed the strings, and perhaps compared it with a few other models.
