Höfner HCT-500/1L-BK Contemporary LH

Alright, I ordered a Sunburst one, but when it arrived I opened the box and came across with the black version. Well, I didn't get really happy initially, but once I took it off from the box and started to facing it, I could only thank Thomann for the mistake. The black version looks stunning. The white beading around the body and neck stands out, making contrast with the black painting. In the end of the day Paul McCartney is already known for using the SB Hofner, so why not having the black one just for a change? Soundwise the bass sounds AMAZING! But I'd recomend changing the strings and put on some flatwound 0.50. I recomend changing the tuners (the ones that equips this bass is completely rubbish) and the control panel for the 500/1 model (it cost about £80 here in this very website). Very pleased with the instrument.

Verabeitung: wirklich top Qualität, alle Teile und Komponenten aus guten Materialien und auch gut angepasst. Bass sehr leicht, Hals liegt sehr gut in der Hand. Musste mich leider an die spezifiche Korpus Form anpassen, wer schon länger mit klassichen E-Bass spielt, von allem oft im sitzen, wird es schnell merken. Viel besser beim spielen im stehen- konnte man also bezeichnen als typische Live-Show Gitarre.
Klang - sehr metallisch und hell, hier giebt es diesen warmen Bass Ton nicht, lasst sich noch bisschen anpassen, bleibt aber immer in kalte-helle Ebene. Guter Klang für garage, dirty rock, wave, rock&roll projekte, nicht unbeding für Heavy &Co. - bands.
Technisch - super verarbeitet, Tonabnehmer generieren keine Nebengeräusche, im Cubase habe ich ganz gute Aufnahme Qualität bekommen.


Preis-Leistung sehr gut, qualitativ - sehr gut, vielleicht nicht so ganz bequem beim spielen (umstellungs Sache), begrenzte Klang-Setting, sehr charakteristisch, und natürlich präsetiert sich sehr Cool auf Band Fotos :) Nicht wirklich dieser all-around Instrument, eher für bestimmte Projekte.
